Cats are most popular pet among women...is it really so?

I see cat lovers all around me(including me!!:D)Thanx to these cat lovers We have loads of cute cats' snaps,cartoon,videos,toys...Shelfs are stuffed with various cat's delights,they even have their beauty parlours.Humans have ages long relationship with Domestica Felis Domesticus.But recently I read that cats are favourite pet for women while men prefer dogs.I thought cats are liked universally!!!what do you think?The research is sound??:P (I wish it is not!!!)

I can't say exactly about the research. But I prefer cats over dogs and my two cats were amiable than any dog I have seen in the world. :p
But you must have seen that usually when cats are shown with their owners, these owners tend to be women, I mean they are women! So maybe it's a general belief and not reality that cat are women's pet, making people to show it in this way.

Honestly I dont believe in the reaserch ir the stats because I know alot of guys who love cats and would have a cat over a dog any day. I would prefer to have a dog over a cat but right now we have 2 cats cause that is what our kids wanted to get as a pet. Eventually I will have my dog.

So you are on my side!!;):D My big brother is also a great cat-lover.Actually guys like him made me doubt this research:) I think mostly people relate cats with tenderness,vulnerability,and "a tendecy to flatter when in need and ignore when you are full" attitude. Most of these are (not all!!)feminine attributes assumedly:P
