I really hope I get this job. So I showered before I went and dressed nice. This is a factory position by the way. I showed up about 15 minutes early and I told the receptionist I had an inteview at 2:30 with Gary...... She sent me to his office. I introduced myself and he said he would be with me in a minute and to wait at the table outside his office. I sat down and looked around at the info about the company while I waited and he could see me but wasnt staring at me, he was on the phone and doin paper work or something. After 10 min, he called me in and said "Hi I'm Gary, of course" and I said "hi I'm Tina ..., nice to meet you" and a hand shake, then he said " have a seat" so i did. He asked me "what brings you here to apply for a job?" I said "I heard this was a great company to work for" He said "WHere did you here that at?" I said "Friends of mine who know people who work here". He asked me if I knew anyone who worked there and i said " I dont personally know anyone who works here." He asked me which shift I can work and (there hiring for 2nd and 3rd) I said "I prefer 3rd, but can work any shift". He ask me if i had worked 3rd before and I said yes. Then he asked me if i was color blind and i said no and he asked me how my hand eye cordination was and i said it was pretty good. my last 3 jobs were in childcare so he asked me about them and i told him 2 of them closed down and the other one I had to leave to take care of my father who was ill. He asked me what i did before the childcare and i said I worked in factorys through temp services. he asked me why I wanted out of child care and i said my kids are school agers now and i want to get back into the work that i like doing. he ask me if had a had a sitter for late shifts and i said i had someone to watch them anytime for me. He ask me since it has been since 2003 since I worked in factory how do i know i would like to do that kind of work, I said I really enjoyed the work i did in the factorys i worked at and i like hands on work and staying busy. He said he was conducting interviews up until Monday and that the employees already there were suppose to have there orders in by Friday as to which machines they want to run since they been there longer they get to pick, then he would know what positions he would need to fill. He said he should know by next wednesday or thursday. He asked me if i had any questions and i asked if they had always had a 2nd and 3rd shift or if they were just expanding. (they are hiring for all positions for both shifts at 2 locations) he said they just bought new machines and need people to run them. i asked if i could call him next week and he said "yes, wednesday or thursday i should know something by then." He thanked me for coming in and i thanked him for his time. Then i left. I feel good about it and wonder what you think.

not sure...what was your edge? what made you more special than the other people that they will be interviewing??
did you do some research on company before hand? what did your body language say?
there are a lot of variables and experience is just one of them...

I did do research, body language was positive, I also mentioned that i was a quick learner and hard worker. I'm not sure what makes me more special than others, what do you mean?

It sounds like you did really well and I hope that you get the job. I would say with the experience that you seem to have in the field that you are looking at is great. I would think that it's also a plus that you don't mind working the 3rd shift and companies love to hear that. Good luck to you and let us know what happens and if it was me I would def. hire you.

It sounds like it went well. Seems like you did what is expected at the interview, and you sounded confident and sure of yourself. Usually, a good indication that an interview went well is if it lasted at least 20 minutes. You sound like you gave good answers.

Thank you. Although this interview only lasted 5-10 min. 20 min seems like enough time to tell your life story. I hope i get it.

I did make eye contact although most of the time he was looking at his paper jotting down everything i said. Also I sat straight facing him and didnt figit or squirm. I was confident in the questions he asked and my answers. I hope I get this job.
