I couldn't help lmao. Here's the story. She went to the restroom in a store. She hung her purse on the hook on the door and just placed her keys on top of her zipped purse. She took care of business, flushed the toilet, grabbed her purse and through it over her shoulder. She hears a clunck and looks down to see her keys, remote entry gadget and all going right down the hole.
This has been a couple of weeks now so she has replaced everything and it is a lot eaiser for her to laugh about now. But take this as a little warning women. You might want to make sure you put those keys all the way in your purse in public bathrooms.
It turned out to be a costly mistake. Remote entry gadgets are expensive enough to replace, but she livesin New York and also had an additional remote to start her car from a distance with, to let it be warming up. I think her husband will give her a hard time about this for a while. I know mine would.

I have accidently flushed make up before down a tolit. i had my eye shadow above it on a shelf that was there. i don't remember knocking it in there. It was proberly one of me ex room mates but it got blamed on me since it was my make up but it's still funny remembering it.

I have worried about that in smaller bathrooms I've had in apartments. I used to be real fussy about closing the lid all the time.

Oh that is too funny, it almost makes you want to cry and laugh at the same time, goodness I have flushed some things down a toilet on accident but I could not imagine. Yes, I am sure it was expensive to replace, a hard lesson for anyone to learn.

I DID cry, and almost wet my pants, talking on the phone to her about it, after the fact.

The funny thing is, she is the most careful person. She is always thinking of things that could happen that I would have never even thought of. She is the oldest child.. always cautious and protective.

LOL. I shouldn't laugh but thats hilarious!
I never have that problem because I don't carry a purse, and so I always have my keys in my top pocket with the button fastened so that I don't lose them, and there's far less chance of someone snatching them from me.
If that had happened to me, my partner would never let me hear the end of it LOL.

I would love the freedom of never carrying a purse.

Oh man, I'm always afraid that I am going to do something like that. I'm constantly checking to make sure my purse is firmly closed before going into the bathroom. If that had happened to me I think I would have sat on the floor and just cried.

A few weeks ago my friend called me around 1am and woke me up (it was a weeknight when you know...people work!) and she's really drunk. She's like 'omg i just did the dumbest thing' so she's drunk and telling me she did this dumb thing and i'm thinking the worst. car accident or something. going home with some crazy guy. getting lost. who knows.
instead she says "i think I just flushed my glasses down the toilet" mind you she doesn't wear contacts. ONLY glasses. I couldn't help but laugh my head off. It was hilarious. She was, you know, leaning her head over the toilet and her glasses were on her head.
Fortunately (though unfortunate for the hilarity factor) she found them the next morning, they were on her bed. She imagined them being on her head and seeing them flush down the toilet.
I still make fun of her for it even though she didn't actually flush them!
luckily I have too many keys to ever fit down that little hole.

I am sorry but I could not stop laughing when I read about your sister flushing her keys down the toilet. I have not heard of anyone doing that before. She will definitely not be able to live that one down as you and her husband will probably keep reminding her. I am sure the remote key does cost a lot to replace so hopefully she will be more careful next time. I wonder if anyone has flushed their cellphone down the toilet by mistake. LOL

Wow, you don't even think about those type of things happening. Thanks for the warning. I would not even want to try to explain that one to my hubby. lol

LOL—too funny- I can’t imagine- It is costly replacing that stuff- especially when it is digital- I hope she had a spare set with her in the store- I carry my spare in my car- How dumb is that! I’ve never dropped mine in the toilet- My SIL dropped her cell phone in the toilet at the beach- GROSS—It was hooked on her pants and when she pulled them up it fell off- She didn’t flush it but it got soaked and didn’t work- YUK!

I haven't done that, but I did let my drop inside my car, locked the door and went shopping at Walmart. I discovered they were "gone" and spent 45 minutes going everyher i shopped and checking at the counter. My son had to come get the groceies, he didn't have the key. I waited at Lowe's for my other son to give me a copy of my keys, my copy lying on the seat in plain view glaring at me. It was summer in Texas, HOT, total time wasted and frustarted 2 hours! But I found some great stuff for my new house a Lowe's while I waited. YIKES!

Oh Wow - she must have been so frustrated! I almost did the very same thing once - luckily though my keys bounced off the seat and fell on the floor! It would have been a pain to replace all the keys though and I don't even have a remote entry gadget! That thing for starting the car remotely sounds fantastic , especially on cold winter mornings! I don't think we would be able to use them here though as it is illegal to leave your car running if you are not in it! xxx

I don't know about illegal, but I think it is stupid to use one of those things. She says she only uses it in her driveway before work, and then in the parking lot when she can see her car. I would worry.

Oh my gosh! I'd be mad but I think I would of fell to the floor laughing. I could see that sort of thing happening to me. I guess you mentioning her purse brought back a memory for me.
I ran into a store real quick and left my car windows open. I came back out and got in my car. I had a habit of swinging my purse into the back seat or floor board, wherever it lands. I backed up and rolled over this bump, so I stopped and got out. There my purse was laying on the ground in front of my tire. I ran over my darn purse! That one wasn't forgotten for quite some time. LOL

Oh no.. what a horrible "freak incident". It won't be funny to your sis, I am sure. :p
At least I hope she doesn't choke up the toilet bowl and have to pay a fine as well lol. :PP

Oh my goodness!! Many times I have laid my keys on top of my zipped purse while in the bathroom stall. You can bet I won't be doing that anymore! LOL. Thanks for sharing your sisters story. I know it was a very expensive lesson for her.
