Utter false, one cat helped us to escape from a poisonous snake.

I don't really like dogs, and I kinda enjoy cats. I don't like them as my pets though, I'm not very motherly. But anyway, I think cats have a cooler way of acting, even if they seem selfish. They seem to be more independent, and some cats might be very caring too. Dogs in general look silly to me.

That is totally false. I had a cat when I was a teenager who would do everything she could to make me happy. Especially when I was not in very good moods. Also when I was PMS'ing she would lay on my stomach in a way that would help with my cramps so my stomach didnt hurt so much. My cat them was far from selfish.

I know that whenever the wife is feeling sick or upset that several of the cats will go and comfort her--the one is normally stand-offish, so it is strange behavior for him.
The problem with housecats is that being compared to dogs is unfair to them. Dogs are natural pack animals, while cats are solitary hunters. Their minds and habits are different--it is like saying extroverts are better than interoverts, just because they are friendlier.

well, i wouldn't call them 'selfish' but i think compared to dogs, they just think that they are the 'owners' instead of us. unlike dogs who know that we are the master, cats are just the opposite. that's why there are many people who feel that they don't really care about their owners. but in my opinion, cats are still a fun pet to have. when they want your attention, they can get really cute.
