Upfront Payment vs Confirming Payments on Associated Content

The default setting for Associated Content is set so that you must confirm your email address before your payment is sent. Once I accepted my first payment, my article was published; I received a notice to confirm my email address, then received payment within just a couple of days. At the bottom of the email was a tip from Associated Content stating that it would be processed by choosing to auto-confirm my PayPal address. You can do this by clicking the Content tab, then the Payment tab, and selecting the auto-confirm option there. Anyway, I was wondering which option you use. I just changed my settings to the upfront payments, and was paid for my latest article yesterday, and am still waiting for it to be published. I was wondering how long it takes when you do it this way. I thought that it would probably be published as quickly, but instead of waiting for payment, now I am waiting for my article to appear.

I do not use the auto comfirm. First of all I did not know there was such a thing. The other thing is I like being in control. Since I have to confirm I make sure I check the site at least once a week and that way I can also check my friends to see if they have written anything new and give them ratings and comments to help them along. I also like knowing that I can turn down an offer if I choose or think it is too low. If you use the auto confirm I think you loose some of that control over what you get paid. I am fine with the time it takes to get paid.

The auto confirm doesn't accept offers for you, it just tells them that it is ok to send you the payment to your PayPal account without requesting authorization for each individual payment. I do not think that I lose any control over what I am paid because I can still refuse or accept any offers I get. I also visit the site regularly, I just like the idea of getting my payments quicker, but I am not sure if I like waiting around for my article to be published afterwards.

I think it's about the same to be honest with you Kelly. I choose not to auto confirm because sometimes they'll give me a bad offer and I like to re-do a few things, maybe add in some more key word rich spots, etc. and then reubmit and get a higher offer. Sometimes I do and it's probably blind luck and other times I don't so... I mean honestly I don't know what to tell you, but I think regardless of the option you choose you're looking at a similar amount of time from when you accept payment to when it goes live.

I don't think that this means that you automatically accept their offer, just that you automatically accept the payment without having to confirm the email address. I still had the option of accepting or denying the offer. I am just wondering if it makes a difference on how long it takes for the article to actually get published because I would like to direct someone to the article so that they can read it.

Streak, I found that with the pre-confirmed selection, I have gotten paid faster, but now that I think about it, I haven't gotten payment amounts...I might just switch back to the other option. It really might help increase my income.

So do you think that the payment amounts are higher with the other option then?

As long as I get my money I could care less when they publish it. They have been so funny about articles that if I get any money that I accept as appropriate then I am keeping it. They have the article and it is up to them. So be it. Good luck in all your writing.

I guess I shouldn't worry about it once I get my money either, but I was curious how all of this worked. My article is there now, but it took a couple of days longer than I expected.

I use the auto-confirm. It allows you to recieve your performance bonus without having to log in and check on your balance first. During the school semester, I go a month between visits unless I am submitting and waiting on offers.

I thought that it was nice to have the money there when I didn't expect it to show up so soon. That was a pleasant surprise. I just expected the article to show up at the same time.

I like it sent to Auto Confirm so that way I can get my payment right away once the offer is accepted. It depends usually on how long it takes for it to get published. Same goes with the payment, it varies. I've yet to figure that out but I've only been with it for going to be a month. I never worry because I always believed I would get paid. I'd give it a day or 2 at the most for either side to get complete. That's about all I can tell you from my own experience.

At least I did get the payment, and the article got published even if not when I expected. I think I will leave it set to Auto Confirm since I got my payment quicker though. Thanks for your response.

No problem at all. Glad I could help some. Yeah I guess the offers just vary or something. That's what I've figured anyway with it and I just keep trying to submit a lot of stuff in a week to keep a weekly income going but that's just me.
