When I was a school student one of my aunts has cooked mushrooms that she picked from the wild. She cooked it with good aroma, Everybody who ate that felt sick and admitted in the hospital for 8 hours. That is my memorable incident about poisonous food.

Lols.. those were not magic mushrooms, they were poisonous mushrooms. If it was magic mushees by any chance, then everybody would have had a colourful acid trip, instead of getting admitted in the hspitals. Anyways magic mushrooms are grown only in three places in the entire universe.

I've worked at a lot of restaurants, and I don't go back to eat there after some of the stuff I see going on like improper meat thawing, food left uncovered in the walk-in before it's used to cook and serve and I've even seen cooks drop stuff on the floor and continue to serve it. Pretty nasty. I've quit a restaurant because I witnessed the owner buying cheese from someone when the cheese was ready to expire. That's where your stomack aches and food poisoning come from, salmanella, bacteria and e-coli. I know of this guy who buys sandwiches out of his work vending machine, they are usually expired then he eats it anyway and always ends up with a stomach ache. Can't fool that guy, LOL!

So have to be careful, you are right! Sandwiches are so dodgy also and you know where I hear heaps of people get sick? The airport! Apparently they are pretty slack with pre packaged stuff. No good. Have heard lots of KFC stories but nothing about Mc Donalds!...Maybe it is because there isn't actully any real food content in what they sell..... tee hee!

From my experience, I would trust fast food restaurants as far as being safe food before I would restaurants. The food tends to move faster because they are busier. They also get health inspections more often. Now the content of the food (and I use the term "food" loosely), that's a different story. I got some good training when I worked at Perkins years ago. Learned about all the different food bacteria that cause food poisoning and I really use that stuff at home. I don't like to be sick.

Thanks for your reply. Junk food is good to avoid because it is not really fresh and often can sit around not keeping cool. Just wondering if food poisioning is as bad all over the world? Worse in some areas maybe? What particular foods are the most dangerous? Apparently rice when it has been at room temperature is one of the worst. Does that mean that sushi is dodgy?
