Can you tell if your friend is lying to you?

Your best friend is the one person in the world that you generally are very open and honest with. So, could you tell if your best friend was ever lying to you about something?

I think never,they treat me very well till now,although we live in different city and we can not meet often,but we send messages and phone to each other,so we keep contact very often.
