When I was a little girl my mother used to make candy out of frosting mix. They would harden but be very quick dissolving and creamy. I remember her making all kinds of pastel colors and mint flavoring.
I have often wondered where to find this frosting recipe. It was the kind of frosting you mix up from a powder in a package I think. Do they even make that anymore? I don't remember ever seeing it here in Quebec.

honestly we never really used exact measurements on it...we took a can of white frosting put it in the mixer..and mixed in about 2 1/4 cups of powered sugar 1 cup at a time..spread that out on a pan when its all mixed then top with 1 jar (12 oz) of peanut butter and roll it up least thats the best of my memory it was simple and easy and good...lol unless you are watching calories then its not a good thing thats for sure

Plastic Chocolate
SUBMITTED BY: Emily B. PHOTO BY: Joanne F
"This chocolate dough can be rolled out like a fondant, or molded to form roses, leaves or whatever. It's very simple to make, and quite impressive. This can also be made with white chocolate."
INGREDIENTS
* 1 pound semisweet chocolate, chopped
* 3/4 cup light corn syrup
DIRECTIONS
1. Melt chocolate in a large metal bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat, and stir in the corn syrup. The mixture will become sticky, but keep stirring until very well blended.
2. Spoon onto a piece of plastic wrap, and wrap tightly. Let stand at room temperature until firm before using. Overnight is best. Use unsweetened cocoa powder on work surfaces to prevent sticking.

I never realized that they had frosting mixes. I just have always bought it out of the can. That candy sounds really good though! I would love to find a recipe for that sometime and try it out. I bet my husband would love it too. I may have to do some internet searching for that!
