Have anyone tried this? I did and it did work for my car and now got 25% to 35% gas savings. :)

My car was getting 7km/liter of Caltex Gold with Techron fuel. After I added 30ml pure acetone to 20liter Caltex Gold with Techron gasoline (same gas station, same gas pump), Now my car is getting 10.4km/liter to 12km/liter.

hi fortheweb, that's quite impressive! I did a bit of searching on the subject - seems most of the web info in favor of adding acetone to gasoline is just the same article by one fellow copied to different web sites... and there are various "authorities" with web pages debunking the idea as an urban myth, or claiming that universitiy tests failed to confirm any benefit... BUT the proof of the pudding is in the eating- there's also a couple of web sites which catalog the results of home researchers trying the stuff out in their vehicles... a good proportion of them don't see much of an improvement, some even get lower MPG... but most actually do get moderate to substantial improvements in their fuel efficiency and engine performance... so it's probably a suck-it-and-see situation... worth a try, anyway, with 30% savings on offer...

I've notice a little drop in mileage if I increase the amount of acetone to 45ml to 20liters gasoline but at this ratio I find my engine more responsive. Since I've been looking for the higher mileage I can get, I just stay with my current ratio of 30ml pure acetone to 20 liters gasoline. It doesn't mean I have a bad engine response with this ratio, it's actually better than without acetone at all. My engine is still using a carburetor, it is also good to note that keeping the carburetor clean will give better engine performance. I believed you still have to find the sweet spot for the type of gasoline you use. 30ml pure acetone to 20liters gasoline is a good start though. You can decrease it or increase it everytime you have to refill your gas tank. One think for sure, I did not notice any damage on my rubber/metal/plastic fuel lines which other people are claiming just to discourage using acetone.

Hi, I have heard a little about acetone. I don't know a whole lot about it, but have heard that it is corrosive. That would be my main concern with using it. I have used many different fuel additives over the last 15 Years and finally found one that works consistently. It has been proven to increase mileage by 13% - 16% in gas or diesel while increasing engine power. We have experienced anywhere from 15% - 33% increase in our family so far. It depends on the vehicle and type of driving. It also reduces emissions by up to 44%. If you would like more info, send me an email with "fuel additive" in the subject line to drventures@yahoo.ca Thanks Dennis
