What is Bi-polar Depression?

My friend just texted me, she said she went to hospital for check-up, she was transfered to a psychiatrist of that hospital after some interview, and she said the psychiatrist find out she had Bi-polar Depression. Now, im a bit confused, what is this Bi-polar Depression?I don't see anything with my friend, or maybe she is just hiding something from me. It is kind of abnormal depression?

I don't know exactly what is is,but a lot of people use that as an excuse for doing bad things and that the medical profession is quick to diagnose someone with it. I know of someone who lived two doors down from me who faked it so she get could disability so she wouldn't have to work.

Basically, bi-polar is a more severe form of depression. Think of it as depression with crazy mood swings
