I hear that milk is suppose to go to $5.00 a gallon this summer, wow! With that kind of price I would be better off buying my own cow! My kids love milk, go through a gallon a day! Right now, I pay $2.29 a gallon, some stores are up to $3.00. How much do you pay for milk?

Wow $2.29 a gallon is really cheap! The cheapest I have found is $3.89. I noticed it just went up last week. The most expensive I've seen at one store was $4.49.

oh see, the $4.49 makes me think that it may be possible somewhere! Our local grocery store used to have it over $3.00, but for some reason, and I am not going to question them over it, they brought it down actually to $1.99 a gallon, now over the past week or so it has gone to the $2.29 gal. Darn those cows!

OH don't get me started on gas! I heard recently that we in Chicago pay the highest taxes on gasoline!

I pay around the same for milk now. However, I work in a grocery store and I have not heard at work that milk is going that high. I hope it doesn't go that high because if it does we will see more kids drink cheaper things- pop,kool-aid,etc.

I hope that I heard wrong is all I can say. Geesh, milk is great for the bones and teeth, and a cold glass a milk is sometimes a welcome treat for me when I don't want to drink that sugary stuff and water isn't cutting it.. lets keep our fingers crossed!

Milk prices are outrageous. We bought a gallon of chocolate milk the other day and it was 4.19. Regular milk is 3.20 a gallon. Luckily we only use 1 or 2 gallons a week.

Hey there, Its time you start investing in a Cow, that way you can have all the milk you want as well as under cutting the shops by selling it a little cheaper LOL... We pay $3.20 for 2 litre bottles of milk...

There are some farmers in neighboring areas that are capitalizing on that thought, they actually are selling non homogenized milk, they say its good for you, and pretty rich, so we shall see if anything comes of it. As for me buying a cow, I live in Chicago proper, I don't think the city would appreciate having a cow in our neighborhood lol

Where I live, milk is selling for $3.00 per gallon. I wonder why so much? Doesn't the world have an adequate supply of cows to produce milk? I don't really have to worry about it very much, though; I eat my cereal with soymilk, though I'll occasionally go for 1% cow's milk.

I have never tried soy milk, I may have resort to it! Speaking of adequate supply of cows, everytime we take a ride in the country I see a bunch, so exactly what are they doing? Just laying around? Lazy bunch of cows lol!

I shop at Sam's club and I pay about ten cents more than you do, and that's cheap. I will switch to soy milk if it gets as high as $5 a gallon. Sam's club always seems to have low prices on milk.

I love Sam's club, I hope they keep their prices down on the milk. As I said in a earlier post, our local grocery store Jewel ( Albertsons) had it at $1.99 for a long time, now its going up little by little. Sometimes the Walgreens around here offers the milk at $1.99 so hopefully we won't run out of places to save a few pennies here and there on our milk.

I think we are only paying about $3.19 for milk now, but we only use a gallon a week. My fiance doesn't drink much milk, and if the price goes up to $5 a gallon, I will learn to like soy milk. It's not so bad on cereal, but it's hard to drink out of a glass. It just doesn't quite taste like milk!

i'm up to almost $3.00 a gallon and I'm from a dairy state (Wisconsin). I don't go through as much milk as you do, but do have a two year old and go through quite a bit.
