Is it me or is hip-hop becoming a more and more dominant force in the lives of not only Americans, but also people from around the world. That's a good thing, right? Kinda. Although it's at it's all time most influential; lack of initiative, responsibility, and relevence has all but disappeared from today's rap.
Don't get me wrong as I know it still exists but the mainstream is filled with a lot of the wrong messages about what people should wear, say, think. It's BS really.
I rap and plan on making a living at it in the near future but damn people... what happened to the good music?
Aside from the obvious:
Common
outkast
Kweli
Mos Def
Kanye etc. etc.
Who's currently making good music in hip-hop right now. What's your thoughts?

I have to agree. Hip-Hop has definitely taken a turn for the worse. Me and my team are currently promoting our brand of music... tell me what you think. http://www.myspace.com/kazinovadolla

I like Hip Hop too. I know some other people who like hip hop, and their influence really made me interested. I am not a total fan, but I find the rhythms fascinating. It is fascinating because it is like spoken word. I like the Beatniks. But hip hop is not like Beatniks, I would say. I like, or know of these bands, and listen to them sometimes:
Blackaliscious
Atmosphere
Jurrassic 5
I guess these are the only ones. I couldn't make hip hop, but dancing to it is reasonable.
