We took Nick to daycare on June 6 and dad got a phone call from daycare right after lunch. Nick had been taken out of his highchair and put on the floor after his lunch. he went running off to play. he tripped over his feet and fell, but as he went down he caught the right side of his forehead right above the eye on a table. He got quite a gash from it. The daycare got the bleeding stopped and as they were looking at it they realized that it was pretty bad. They called dad and asked him to come and see if he wanted to take him to the doctor. Dad went and decided to take him to the doctor. He was fine until they made him lay down so they could put the glue on the sore. Then he started fighting and they had to hold him down to get the glue on and dry. Then he went back to daycare until I went to get him at 4pm.
Nick is 22 months old and almost 35 inches tall. He is very tall for his legs so he is having trouble with his coordination. He trips over his feet and legs quite often but usually just falls on the floor. This was a very bad day for him. We went for a walk after we got home and stopped at grandma and grandpa's house for a visit. While we were there he was walking to grandma he tripped yet again and fell against the endtable. He cut his left ear right up in that cuff part so that we couldn't see it till it started bleeding. This cut was not very serious. We got the bleeding stopped and dad looked at it. He said that it was just a little cut and would be fine.
This child will just be accident prone I think due to his height and very long legs.

My daughter fell and cut her forehead five times between the age of two and three. She had stitches in her fore head once. I was forever putting ice or a band aid on her at that age. I know they are very uncordinated at that age. Good luck you will need it.

Thanks. I am sure that I will need lots of luck to keep him in one piece while he is still growing and learning.

I am sure Nick will be the same way. I hope that he gets better as he gets older though.

Oh that poor baby! I am so sorry he had such a bad day.
When my oldest was about the same age, she fell not once but twice against the entertainment center in the same day. Both times left two little scars on her forehead. One on each side. Bless their hearts, it's as if their legs have minds of there own when they are tall like that.

It is exactly like their legs have a mind of their own. I have never seen anything quite so clumsy as a young child walking or running.

Aww, your poor little guy! My son has that problem just after growth spurts. It's like he has to re-learn some of his coordination everytime. When he was a little over a year old, he fell and hit his head on the heater on the wall in his room. Fortunately it was summer, so it was turned off. But he hit his eye, and had one of those little blood bubbles on his eye for about a week. We had to take him to the Dr. to see if the eye was scratched, and that was a nightmare. Had to hold him down so they could put these drops in that reacted under a blacklight and would show a cut. Fortunately there wasn't one, because giving him eyedrops is a nightmare. Of course, he got pink eye earlier this year... which was not a very good week for me.

Oh my. That was pretty bad. I am glad that Nick has not done anything that could possibly hurt his eyes. His dad is almost blind and I have astigmatism so he will probably have eye problems soon enough.

He is much better n ow. It has healed up to the point where there is just a little red scar that I think will go away soon. Thank you for asking. He is 22 months old.

We thought that it wasn't so great. When your child gets hurt it is not fun for you.
