Do you walk/run in the rain?

It's been raining every evening for the past week or so. My sis-in-law saw me running/hurrying through the rain and laughed. She says its better to walk. You'll tend to get more soaked when you run. According to mythbusters she said. I don't know, because whatever it is.. i'll still run. Habit/reflex, call it whatever you want. I just think I'll stick to running.:)
What about you? How many of you out there, take a leisurely stroll in the rain? Do share..:)

I do walk in the rain. I don't run and I hate umbrella. No matter what I choose, I still get wet. I feel funny if I need to run though I know nobody bothers to look at me running in the rain. It is a normal habit but I just don't get used to it. Oh, I hate rainy day and hot weather too LOL!

Hi, Shemah!
*smile* I don't hate people using umbrellas during rainy or hot day. I just hate seeing myself trying to use the umbrella itself. Maybe I am such a messy person, whenever I try to use the umbrella, I will get wet more than without the help of it LOL
Me and the umbrella... never in a good term, friend! *laugh*

I guess walking in the snow with your loved one is really romantic. It's beautiful.. and all the better reason to snuggle closer! :) But when it comes to walking in the rain.. i don't think i could. Maybe if it's just drizzling, then yeah.. but if it's raining hard and blowing people's umbrellas horizontally, then i think i'd rather run.. and get home faster and THEN do my snuggling.. lol!

That will depend on how I am dressed and if I need to rush. Normally I will run so that I can get to a shelter as soon as possible.
If I am in a weird mood, I might just walk since I am wet anyway. :P

I would walk in the rain because I am scared of the slippery floor that I might flip my foot and end up laying on the street (that wouldn't look gorgeous!). Yes I heard that you will get more soaked if you run in the rain but sometimes, when the rain is too heavy, I would prefer to run too, just getting out of that as soon as possible. But if it's medium to small rain, I would walk through it.

I don't know.. i guess if it's not too heavy, i won't bother to run. It's just that when it's stormy, it's difficult for me to just take my time and stroll, you know? And yeah, the other thing is, i wouldn't want to spend more time than necessary in the bad weather. :) Thanks for responding!!

*laughs* Especially those time with lightning and thunder and heavy rain, oh I would definitely run instead of being in the middle of the road, that would be dangerous!

That is funny you should mention that. I just watched a rerun of Mythbusters on television today, and they tested the myth that it is better to run in the rain, than walk. It was busted. After several tests it was found you would be less soaked with rain if you walk, than if you run. I always walked anyway. : )

Haha.. really now? i didn't get to watch the show. My sis-in-law was the one who was telling me to stop running and just walk. As i said, i think i do it out of habit/reflex.. and i don't know why.. i just can't walk in the rain. Especially heavy rain.

I usually run when it's raining outside. I try not to get soaked with rain. Most of the time I have forgotten my umbrella so if I don't run, I'm gonna be pretty wet.

hey lovelydame!
Really? You like getting wet in the rain? haha.. no thanks.. only if it's a slight drizzle than i'd walk. That's why most times i get stuck at a shopping mall for quite some time.. to avoid the rain outside.. even if it is to cross the road to get to the car. :) Anyways, thanks for responding. Sorry for the late reply. Take care!

i love walking in the rain, not running though , i hate running, because there's a slight chance that i might slip and then i'l be seriously wet.

Drizzling or not, I would still definitely run~! I hate getting wet. I never knew that you'd get wetter if you run, but I would just wanna get out of there asap~! I used to have a friend who didn't wanna run in the rain because she said it was embarrassing~! lol.. Ok, I dunno about her, but I would rather run and stay dry than to walk and get wet, and be embarrassed by my wet clothes! :P

why would anyone be embarrassed? is it not normal to run in the rain? maybe it's not in the bubble she lives in.. my friend got really embarrassed one time because everyone was commenting on her wet white t-shirt that was really soaked through.. so i don't know about your friend.. but that's something to be embarrassed about. Unless she joins wet t-shirt contests regularly.. LOL!
Haha.. anyways, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I used to run in the rain, but then I noticed there is no point doing that becuase wheather I walk or run I still get wet. And when I run I get more tired when I reach my destination and it is possible to slip and fall in the process injuring myself.

Haha.. so you were a runner before huh? Maybe I should convert to walking, too. I don't know, i just feel that if i could reach the shelter in half the time my sis-in-law takes to reach it, she'll be the one at risk of getting sick, you know? So, probably, I'll just be more careful when I run. But now that I'm pregnant, strangers just offer me their umbrellas. How nice!! So i dont really have to worry THAT much.

I usually tend to run but once in a while when I'm in a calm and peaceful mood I tend it walk. It reminds me of when I was a child and how I used to loved playing in the rain and sometimes even in the flood! haha God bless the improved drainage system in Luyang!
But yeah, when I was back in my "control" days I used to walk more because running is so the "uncontroling ayu and cool!" hahaha So I understand how Syura's friend feels!

Hey, roz!
I can never walk in the rain.. because i think i'd look like a fool and not cool at all when i soak myself to the skin. :P and besides, i was one who never really played in the rain when i was a kid. So, running does it for me. :) Anyways, thanks for responding!

I love to walk in the rain. I don't mind getting wet. There are times that when I feel sad to the point that I want to cry, I just walk outsie when its raining. It's less obviouswhen you are crying in the rain. It helps me feel better too, as ifthe rain is washing away the sadness that I have inside.

Hi tamikotan!
Yeah.. i do believe rain holds healing properties for people emotionally.. Like for me, rain just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.. makes me feel better and just gives me the comfort i need. When I'm inside the house, that is. :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

Its better to walk in the rain... cause the chances are youll slip in the water and really injure yourself pretty bad. I have experienced this and so i never run in the rain. anyways its more joyful to take a walk in the rain
