Does anyone here on MyLot follow the Bahai faith? We have a couple of friends of ours who are Bahai and they are wanting us to come meet with them sometime and learn more about it. I've read a book about it and gotten a little information about what the religion is about. But I'm curious to here from other members of the faith. I like that it incorporates all religions as one. I'm just curious as to what their services are like. I know in my area they don't meet every Sunday like regular church. So for those of you that are Bahai what made you choose to become Bahai? Were you raised in that faith? What do you think is the most important thing about being of the Bahai faith?

I don't have any personal experience with the Bahai faith, but it never hurts to learn about other's beliefs. Having a knowledge of many religions can help you to understand why many people do the things they do. You should take your friends up on their offer tolearn more, then come back here and share what you learned with all of us at mylot. :)

We were going to go to one of their meetings last week but didn't get the chance to. Hopefully I can go to the next one so I can come back and share what I learned about their religion. I'm always up for learning about new religions and the people who follow these religions.

I guess no-one knows. I was interested when you said it incorporates all religions but I have never heard of it before. I see at the bottom of your discussion that there are others who are looking for answers with similar discussions.

Guess this is not a common religion among our fellow mylotters. Here is a website I found explaining a little bit more about the faith in case anyone is curious about it. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. That's why I was wanting to talk to some people who follow this religion. http://www.bahai.org/faq/facts/bahai_faith

I am surprised that no followers of the Bahai faith have yet responded to your discussion here. Once having lived near Chicago I was much impressed with the beauty of their temple and did try to learn more about this faith, attracted by statements that they expressly forbid proselytizing, among others. I thought I might try to attend one of their services if for no other reason than to get inside that magnificent building. However, every follower I've ever met has seemed obsessed with recruitment, expressing the belief that it is a duty to teach their faith to others, a contradiction which served to snuff any curiosity that I had at the time. Recently, however, I happened to stumble across the following link, which may interest you. http://www.bahai-faith.com/#ex-Bahais
