I just want to let my friends know that I have a new avatar. This is me hidden behind a hat (LOL!)
I think I will keep it. What do you think? Was my last one better or should I stay with this one? I don't want to change it later on down the line because I don't like changes so I hope every one recognizes me by my mylot user name and not my avatar. LOL. I like to be incognito what about you?
What is your view here? Do you know the user name of your friends or recognize them by their avatar picture? Pleas do tell here...

I like people to see me for who I am and not some figure. That's just my opinion, but I do have friends who just have something to represent them. the one you have before was unique as I never saw that one before. All in all whatever you choose will be fine with me. It does not change who you are.
You have a great day!

I am sorry! I misread you response. The one I had before was also unique. I drew that one myself! But I hope you will recognize my new one. I will most likely change it back soon. I go through phases with what avatars. LOL~I always go back to the original LOL!

I first recognize them by their avatars but I do also recognize them by their name too. I like the incognito look, I believe it never hurts to have the air of mystery. It is something exotic about being mysteries. Do you.

I recognize them by their avatar. Just like in real life. We recognize people by their face not their scent. However I do know the names of people who respond to my discussions and patronize their discussions.

Since soo many people on MyLot copy cat Avatars it is wise to know your friends by their user names.

I use both to recognize people but the username is more appropriate cuz the the avatar may change but you cant change your username.
But most of our usernames are not are real names so that gives us a possibility that even that is not the most appropriate.

LOL - I have to admit I'm an avatar person - one of my son's once said of me, 'draw her a picture and she can understand anything'. I am a visual person which is strange seeing as how I am a writer but then maybe not so strange - I say how I see it :)
I do get very confused at times when my friend's here change their avatar - way to go dear, you confused me :)

Well i think everyone knows me by my avie lol. I do recognize people by their avie which is not always god. Because not too long ago i saw an avie and answered the discussion using the persons name. Only to find out it was someone with the same avie but a different name lol. That can be quite uncomfortable lol

I only know a few of my friends by their user names I do go by avatars mainly, so when people change their avatars it does confuse me slightly. I've never changed my avatar yet so I don't know what impact it would have on my friends and whether everyone would still know who I was.

I always recognize my friends by their avatars. Well not always, but mostly.
So if I don't know someone well enough and they change their avatar, I would suddenly "forget" who they are. Only the usernames that are striking AND easy to remember tend to stay.
So changing avatars is always very dangerous. For anyone changing their avatars and wondering why people seem to be ignoring them - this may be the reason - that to others, you have become a new stranger they have never seen. :P

I always recognize the avatar first. Which is one reason why I have never changed mine. I don't want my friends to not know me.

I realise that it is easier to recognise mylot members by their avatars rather than by their member names. The avatar is a picure so you can just glance at it and immediately recognise the person especially if you have been having conversations continously here at mylot.

Well, I'm the visual person. I recognize people by their avatars, so it did take me a while to place you. Then I read you username and I recognized it. I prefer remembering people by their avatars. Avatars are bigger and easy to notice and that makes it easier to recognize who's who, plus they're all so different from each other, and usernames are filled with all these numbers and letters, which are similar for some people, like I've seen a lot of users with the word "butterfly" in their usernames, so I'd rather differentiate them by their avatars, but this can be a pickle because people usually tend to change their avatars than their usernames.

I do happen to notice avatars but I always look at the names as well. There are some people who share the same avatar so I always make sure that it is my friend before I respond to the discussion. I sometimes respond differently to a friends discussions then someone else. I would be embarrassed to get people mixed up.

There are some that I recognize by their avatar and some by their name. And some for both. For example, I know you (recognize you) by your name ;;)

maybe i remember both if i always see their avatar in my discussion then i always read their user name and in time i remember them like abroji, i really love her, cause she is always present in my discussion, i also remember those with unique avatars, and some are scary and some are cute, but in that way only their avatars and not the user names, i think the best way to remember them always is to invite them to check out your discussion and always open their profile, but it will be hard, right!?, but some users i just remember their unique user names(and also i found some user names which are misspelled i suppose and they cannot change it anymore) ..thanks!!^^
