Hi Guys, what i have seen in the movie was very much different from what i have read in the book. The reason being there are many minute details described in the book which could not be depicted in the movie. In the book, Dan has talked about 2 cryptexes, while only 1 is there in the movie. The ending is entirely different.
Lets share what all differences we have seen noticed??

every thing written in a book cant be shown on screen...a film's time is limited..say 2 hours. in that time they have to show whatever they think is good. but in a book you can go even to the minutest detail. thats why the film was bad when compared to the book. even in the harry potter movies all the things in the book are not shown on screen.
the story of the film is different from that in the book. that usually happens. cos a book cant be entirely made into a single film .that would mean cutting of some parts of the book. if it had been made in sequels then it could have showed everything.

there are many answers to this question , as there were many contrverseries and objection against the novel also , it has reflect on movie and then may be the director is not smart enough to copy the writer or may be no one can truely copy anything in this world , when writer writes the story he creat his own sences while in direction its hard to come closer to the novel sences as there are many parameteres in film production, but fact remains the same that every best seller book or novel based movie is not that good......cheers
