What is your stand towards beauty pageants?

What is your stand towards beauty pageants? I love to watch beauty contests but some of my friends hate them..they claim it is sexist and parading women around in their underwear and evaluating their bodily statistics is not a measure of the crown..what do you think?

I think that the morality point is for the contestants and their relatives to decide, if you enjoy it then go ahead and watch. Every community has different values about what is good and what is bad, in a conservative society maybe it will not be accepted but in the western World it is not considered a big thing.

You are right but i actually read in a book once that even this issue is being addressed by Westerners and some of them are even against beauty pageants..well, as for me, i find them entertaining. :)
