Marian Rivera is the Pinay Marimar

It was revealed last Wednesday at 24oras that Marian Rivera is the new Marimar to hit the tv screen opposite Dingdong Dantes. The role was originally offered to Angel Locsin but for some reasons, she turned the offer down. Some stars including Nadine Samonte, Jennylyn Mercado, Karylle and even Rica Peralejo auditioned for the role but only one suceeded - Marian Rivera. I think Marian is a good replacement since she can sing, dance and act. I know she can do better than the rest. What do you think?

Oh really? Angel turned down the offer. I guess to much work already. Well, Marian would fit the role (I think) among other stars mentioned above. She deserves a real good break. She's pretty, sexy, and she's a good actress too so why not? I think she'll look great as Marimar.

I agree. Angel needs a break. She did three consecutive tv shows and she deserves to chill out for a while.. but please not for long because she might turn out to be like Sandara or Heart who had a hiatus in showbiz and found it hard to come back

I think they are right for choosing Marian Rivera as Marimar because she is very talented. And if Angel Locsin will be Marimar, it will be very annoying that everynight we will still be watching Angel Locsin, as in "nakakasawa na" right? They have to give chance to others that is talented too like angel locsin. We just dont know it because they (GMA mgnt.) dont giving break to them.

Marian is simple yet very talented. And, I will not object if she will rise soon like Angel. Rica is talented too and I like her too. Rica is already an icon in showbiz so I have no doubt if she will be selected instead of Marian.

Well Marian Rivera really deserves the role and i think Marian can be the counter part of Angel Locsin.

Angel Locsin!!! Thank God she refused the role. Oooops sorry nothing against Angel. I just don't think she fits the character. Think of the original who played Marimar compared to Angel. I think Nadine could be fit better. But Marian Rivera qualifies for the role. For one thing she looks like a Mistiza. I just hope that she would justify the character. Acting wise i couldn't say that she's good, well i'll give her a chance. She's new isn't she?

She is a good choice and I can say a good version of the original one. I like her innocence, her simplicity and her ability to put the role and really act it out the way we expect her to. This is a good move by gma and they have selected a good girl for the role. I also like the dog, it such a smart dog, its like the dog in the original version of marimar.

I think they will be a great pair, and you know when Angel Locsin got her vacation because she wants to laid back from showbizness, she wants to study fashion in other country, i think Marian will steal the limelight, don't you think. She is very beautiful.

she is pretty good for Marimar. she acts the role so well though her speech can still be improved. she speaks so fluently in Spanish too. I can't imagine Angel Locsin doing Marimar.
