I'm not talking about pet birds. I'm talking about certain pests outside.
I have one outside cat and she's OLD. Every summer she is bothered by mockingbirds. Last year I had to put her food umder a cover so she could eat in peace. A mockingbird had set up a nest in one of the trees & would dive bomb my cat. She was nowhere near the nest, but that darn bird did it anyway.
Blue jays can also be pests, but I haven't had any problem with them, just the mockingbirds.

Mockingbirds are well known for dive-bombing not only other animals but people as well. Don't know what will stop them from pestering your poor cat cept to keep her indoors or in a garage or somewhere. Can't shoot em all.

Is it just the one mockingbird pestering poor Mittens or several of them? If just the one, find a way to destroy the nest. I really feel for her but I feel that way about any animal that is being tormented for no reason.

Is it just one mockingbird or a number of them ???
The bird may be trying to tell her something , like Your in My Territory , what if you move the dish to another location ???
Or what about feeding the bird while she`s out , throw some sunflower seeds out maybe that will keep it busy so your cat can eat in peace ...

Your poor kitty! Those mockingbirds are so mean and aggravating. The few around my house have stayed away, as I have a couple of cats that love to catch them, and both my dogs in the back yard will actually jump up in the air and catch the birds if they are low enough. I remember when I was a kid, there was this one mockingbird that had its' nest in a pyracantha bush in the back yard. He would not only wait for my cat and dog, but he would wait for me as well. The little bugger would actually dive bomb me when I would come outside. He finally got what he deserved when my cat caught and killed him. You would have laughed at how she was strutting around the yard afterward.

Oh, I know what you mean, I used to have an outside cat and the blue jays would dive bomb my poor cat and he did nothing (that I saw) to provote such behavior, there is not much you can do but keep your kitten away from where the birds nest, perhaps they have babies and just are protective.

Oh that is so mean! Those darn birds- You know you never hear this side of it- My cat is an indoor cat- so we don’t have any problems- but our 3 prior cats were all indoor/outdoor cats- and they were always chasing the birds- All of them were young cats- You don’t usually hear about the birds dive-bombing cats-

Inside of my apartment building there are palms trees. When I moved here two years ago, there were pigeons, they are gone now.
Now we have to contend black birds and they are quite evil. They will swoop on you and scare you good. At first I thought they only did this when you got near their babies. I do not believe that this is still the case.

Bird attacking a cat..Actually I had seen this many times but it was a crow attacking a small dog.It was very pathetic scene to watch out for as the dog was helpless as it couldnt catch the crow at all as it was always flying around. But I was just thinking about the condition of that crow if it was caught by the dog..
