I never sleep with my mouth open. Does any one of you do that? Does that harm you any sense or someones closes your mouth when you are sleeping? Its known that it causes mouth to dry leading to sore throat. Have you faced such difficulties?

How do you know if you are or are not sleeping with your mouth even slightly open? Just because you wake up with your mouth closed does not mean that you did not sleep with your mouth open at some point. If you have ever had nasal congestion due to a cold, you probably slept with your mouth open to be able to breathe.

Thats a good question but no one has yet complained me about my mouth being open when I sleep. But surely I'll ask someone to see my mouth while I sleep. lets see whether I sleep with mouth open or closed.

I dont know exactly but you can try closing it whenever you see her with open mouth. You practice it daily and may be after sometime she gets used to it and start sleeping with mouth closed. Hope it does for you! You can also wait for someone else who has experienced this problem and can help you in this concern. Thanks for the response!

HI, I can't see myself sleeping lol. But I don't think I sleep with mouth open. And yes, I do agree that it can lead to dry mouth and sore throat for serious cases.

I wonder if people who sleep with their mouth open are mostly bad snorers? My daughter(15) has had sleeping issues since she was 3.. recently we had her tonsils removed ... she has gone from being an extremely bad snorer to no snoring at all and she doesn't mouth breath any more as her airways are clear. Maybe difficulty breathing during sleep is why a lot of ppl sleep with there mouth open..
