Do you search for a similar discussion before starting a new one?

Everytime i start a new discussion i make sure to search for a similar topic before starting a new one. I look first for tags or full-text then i visit each number listed there. Sometimes i get disappointed if i found a discussion similar to mine.
How about you? Do you search first or you start immediately without searching? What is your experience with this? Do you always get disappointed?

I use to do that before, when I would get to think of something quite interesting as a discussion, I would search it here in this site, tags and full text too, and if I can't find one, I'd just start but, if ever I do find one, similar to what I had in mind, I guess I'd just have to post my response to that discussion.
However, it seems that those that I get to see are discussions that have been inactive for a long time. Makes me think if I should start a new one or just participate. (-_- )

no,i never check for it because i thought even the discussion topic is same, but the responses would not.a same discussion strated by different member will make the result absolutely different.

Sometimes I do and some other times not. Especially when I need help. I always need to get more answers to my request and I complete it with the ones that have already been posted in other discussions. There are always new people who have not answered before and who can give other ideas/solutions that might be better than what is already there. Some other times the similar discussions are old so the answers are also old. It's better to get fresh answers lol Take care b_gryl.

sometimes , I will do it,but sometimes I will not do it.
I think it is a good way to post good post, but my internet speed is so slow, so if I search every time, I have no time to post .
I never copy and paste other's post from other forum, and all the post is made by myself, so I think I don't make multipul post , and I think I always only share my opinions with people .

Never mind abt it so far, I simply go on posting as i comes across my mind. After posting i used to check for similar topics... But if it is not found there i will be happy.. or if found i simply go to respond another one.. If i were to check whether the discussions were started earlier, it would be time consuming for me, which is what i feel..

I do check for similar discussions before starting my own. It is a good habit. Everyones mind will work similiarly under similiar circumstances, hence I wont get dissapointed if I see a similar discussion.
