Do you always approve new friends request or do you deny their request? Why? How many friend request you already approved and how many those you denied?

i rarely approve new friends, the reason being that i dont want inactive friends. I use a set criteria, i have to have answered one of the persons postings, or they have to have answered at least one of mine. Also, if his profile says he is 18 m India he stands little chance simply because i have nothing in common. I also always check profile, I want to see some interests in common. I also feel that unless someone has made over 100 responses they have yet to prove themselves committed to the site. I dont want my friends list to be full of inactive individuals so im afraid i turn down many more than i accept blessed be

You have a point there! I'll try doing that also.. I think it is really better to have a list of friends who are active. Actually, i don't know if all of my friends are active and i don't know what are their interests.. I'll check out their profile if i have time. Thanks!

No, I don' approve all friend requests. I used to, but I have stopped. Many of the requests that I am getting are from folks who have not answered any of my discussions nor have I answered any of theirs. I always check their profile too. If I see that every discussion they start is about some money making program or starts with "how can I make more money..." then I don't approve them as my friend. I check their discussions and replies to discussions to see if they follow the myLot guidelines. If they don't, they I don't approve them. Too many risks!

I agree. I have been asked, recently, to add someone as a friend, but when I looked at their profile, all I saw were adds on how to make money. I hate getting spammed and if I get more than one spam from someone, they are off my friends list.

Wow ! You really have lots of friends huh. Your right, we should deny those people who are spammers. From now on, i will also be checking if those people who are requesting for approval also have an interest with my discussions.

I hate to deny anyone but I have done it quite a few times. I always check out the person first, and answer some of there discussions if they have some good ones. I have approved a lot of friends but I have also gone back and deleted some of them. I have no idea what the count might be.

Yah, it's good to check the person first before approving his/her request.

I always approve new friends. I don't know how many I have already but I'm sure I have a lot already. I only denied one person because I knew he/she was a spammer. The first time I approved them and then they started sending me their referral links. I deleted them and then they came with another new name, but I knew it was the same person because of the avatar and the name was the same except they added a number to it. So I denied the request. Some people don't accept new friends unless they answer their discussions. I don't have that problem because I found a way how to do things. When someone answers my discussion, whether they are friends or not, I make it a point to answer theirs, that's my way to thank them, better than just commenting their answer. And usually by doing that, I don't have the problem of browsing discussions and trying to find the ones I can answer. You see I am here b_gryl because you answered one of my discussions. And you are not on my friends list. But you come first to me when it comes to answering discussions. I would rather answer someone who answered mine than answering a friend who never answers mine... Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for your response! I understand why you always approve new friends. I never had an experience like yours but if ever i experience that i'll do the same thing you did. Atleast now i know what to do if spammers requested for approval. Have a great day too!

Well, I just approve any friend request that I get here in myLot. It doesn't really matter to me if I don't know that at all. I'd get to know them, well a part of them anyway, through our exchanges in the discussions that we would both participate in. I'd get to read their views and opinions and that would somehow establish that kind of personality that I can perceive from them. And that would also be the same case for them as well when they get to read my posts. I don't see it really as a necessity to send PMs in this site but, I do reply if they do send some and I also send them messages in case its not really a discussion but, more of an inquiry. I often approve most friend requests that I get and, I have not denied or even deleted friends here in myLot, even though most of them are not that active anymore (^_^")

Yes I do. I am a friendly person and I don't mind if another person wants to be my friend.
