I can't believe my boss! / myLot

I put on the company calendar over a week ago that I would be gone this afternoon due to no daycare today. My son's dad took half a day & I took half a day. That's fair right? Anyway my boss takes off every Friday. I sent him a txt message reminding him I would be gone at noon. He called me all pissed off because I was leaving & demanded that I tell him why I was going to be gone. He is a jerk to me most of the time. I work 8-1/2 - 9 hrs a day & don't take hardly any comp time. Why is 3-1/2 hrs such a big deal?

That's a terrible attitude to take towards his workers. Since it's down to his own bad management not noticing on the calendar that you were going to be gone, then he has only himself to blame for any problems that occurred! And as you said, 3-1/2 hours is nothing in the great scheme of things, I'm sure you're not his only employee so he should have been able to manage fine! Maybe he was just on a power trip, or blaming you for being pissed off at himself for not realizing! I hope you told him where to shove it :oD
