Mylot - NEWS

How amny of you know that there is a section called NEWS in mylot? you can start discussions even there. But I find its very inactive, many people are ignorant and dont visit that news. I dont know whether this is because of ignorance. So I wanted to start a discussion to confirm this. This news update is better that the news in televsion because its people who start discussions here.
So let us make the news section also as busy as discussion. I need all you help. If you dont know about the news just take a look at news section. Thanking you!!!

I am aware of the news section. I don't post in it because I don't like talking about the news. Anything in the mainstream media of tv news, newspaper news, or internet news will be very inaccurate because all of it is biased. I prefer not to engage in discussions that are based on inaccurate information.

Even if they are biased you get the jist of wat is happing out in the surrounding. You get to hear the news from many users point to of view. Many will spin up what they hear as you say. But still News is News...Good Luck !!!

I know about many interest sections on mylot, but that doesn't mean that I will post in all of them. Several of my interests are not busy either. It all depends on what the other members are interested in. News just isn't something I am interested in posting about. If I happen across a discussion that catches my attention, I may read and respond to it, but I am not going to add every section to my interests, nor write in every section.

I have it on my interests.
Although I hold no interest in starting a discussion about news, it's very annoying as it is when people post "only" news stories.
I think it should be balanced but I still appreciate it and only reply to my friends.

I have enough to post and respond to than to worry about adding more discussions to news page. I do visit them from time to time as they are part of my homepage. If I have the need to respond I will, if not then I will just pass them by :)

I have responded to a few news on mylot, but I don't have any response from anybody. I think mylotters usually ignore the news here. But sometimes it is not easy to find the news. I only find it by chance. A few days ago, I was searching for the news, but failed. Yesterday I happened to have found it and chose one to respond. Not a single reponse has ever been received. I also hope more mylotters will be active in that area.

Yes you are right , I too find many news pieces lying without a single responses and hadly at the max get 1 or 2 responses. I feel many still dont know about the section. This is the reason why people hesitate to post there also. Even the Blog section was so but now it has slowly gained popularity and so asNEWS is new I feel so it will get popularity too. As you say you many not find all news because of 2 reasons. One is the many people who know about news too dont post as they feel the section is inactive and rather prefer to post it in people or relationships section. Second is that as mylotters are the journals , you cannot expect all accurate news.
