Why isn't there a handheld game?

My husband says if a game is on Playstation2, then the company has bought the rights and therefore, the game is distributed throughout. I haven't found Katamari Damacy for the Gameboy or Nintendo DS Lite though! Why isn't there one?

I have the free, trial version for my iPod Touch but I don't play it that often...it seems too hard to play! Does it get better the more you play it?

there is a katamari game for the psp-it's called me and my katamari. once you get over the control limitations (no thumbsticks) it's pretty fun. I've spent many hours dashing around rolling up stuff.
