Sadly Speaking,Democracy has been killed in India.
The political parties of India have demolished the foundation of true democracy in India.
Indians have no voice in the functioning of the Govt that runs with over 25 political parties.Their decision is the FINAL WORD in the country.They ignore people's voices in all matters,however collective the voice may be.
The Bengal Communist Govt.-aided mass killing of resisting poor peasants of Nandigram near Kolkata(formerly 'Calcutta')& the snatching away of land from the poor farmers of Singur are just the tip of the iceberg of State oppressions in this country which is no more a democracy,but an autocracy.
The Indian Govt. gives special privileges to certain sections of the society in the name of RESERVATIONS for SC/ST/OBC,thus discriminating against people on the basis of birth & dividing Indian society to fulfil their political aspirations.
Time has come to ACT Now.An Online Campaign has been started at Orkut to create an online movement to save the dying democracy before it's too late at:
