will iphone replace other mobiles from the market??

My boyfriend has recently become obsessed with the iPhone and can't wait until it gets released here in the UK. Where I think it's a great idea and the technology is amazing, I'm not too fussy on the design of it. I like phones to be really small and dainty - I'm only a small person myself (5 ft tall), and although the iPhone is slim, it's quite long and will look huge next to my tiny hands LOL :o) But since the technology with it is so great, the touch screen, no stylus, mobile internet, and ipod built in, I think it will definitely make a big impact on the sales of other phones... it's pricey though!

The iPhone is pretty sweet but it is still insanely expensive. Since it's the first generation as well, I'm sure there will be plenty of bugs to work out as well. I myself wouldn't mind having one, but it looks like it is currently contracted that you can only purchase and use the iPhone through Cingular.
