Isn't it weird to see a cat without a tail? My cat is this kind of cat. We think that a cat without a tail means that it's a good cat which can catch mouse. We don't have mouse at home, so he is idle:)

There are Japanese bobtails, who have short tails like yours. There are Manx who come in several styles. Some have full long tails, some have no tails, even a dimple where the tail should be, and then there are "stubbies" who have a few vertebra of the tail. I've never had a tailless cat, I really like cats with tails - and my cats are really good at killing mice & rats!

He'll probably kill more since he'll have more chances to do so. My cats are inside cats, but sometimes a stupid rodent gets into their screened porch. Then they don't have a chance!

I don't think that my cat will kill less mice than yours:)

I think a cat without a tail might look a little odd, but it's no less a cat than a cat with a tail. I had a friend when I lived in Virginia who had a cat with no tail. I called her Toby the Tailless Wonder cat. She had no balance problems or anything like that.

That's true. I wonder why tailless cats will have no balance problems. This is an interesting found.

Aww he's got a little tail it looks like (or is it a she?) When I was younger my family had a cat without a tail at all. It didn't even have a little stub of a tail like it looks like your cat does. Our cat without a tail was named "Puffer" Because he was just a big puffball of fur. He also had two brothers and a sister. One of his brothers and his sister had normal sized tails (Tigger and Claude) and the other brother that was my cousins, had a little stub of a tail (also..looks like even your cats stub is longer than this cats was) and his name was...can you guess? Stubs! I think it's a little weird when you don't see a cat without a tail because it's so common to see them. It's like seeing a human without an arm or a leg. But it happens and I don't think it really means anything. There are some breeds of cats that don't actually have much of a tail normally.

Here we think all cats should have tails. If one is tailless, and it'll be so special. We think it is good at catching mouse:)

I'm not sure how no tail = catch mice... but if that's what makes the cat special to you then that's good.

There are a few breeds where the cat doesn't have tails and it's completely normal. As to whether or not they can catch mice better than a cat with a tail, I don't know. I know that, without at tail, they have some disadvantages with balance and running. Cats without tail tend to hop like bunnies. But, that might not stop them from catching mice.

My cat seems to have no problem for his balance and running. I am not sure, his problem may be he would be teased by his cat friends:)

I just presume that it is a Manx Cat which are born with no tail, or that maybe it had an accident and it had to be removed. I have never thought about any meanings to that.

more than calling it a cat without a tail, i think u should call it a cat with a stumpy tail. thats a genetic inheritance. its seen more in dogs. and theres nothing different in such animals, positive or negative.

But it seems that cat has no tail looks very funny:) It's OK for a dog without a tail.
