How old do you start sending your children to the barber? I have been wondering whether my 3 year old son is ready for that or not.. ever since he was born, I've been cutting his hair for him. Especially since i know how he can't keep still..
So what about all you parents out there? I hope you guys can shed some light on this matter.. Any advice/tips for cutting my son's hair??
Thanks alot!

My son is already 3 years old, but he doesn't like to have a haircut. And I am sure he will cry badly if I send him to the barber. So usually we have a haircut for him when he falls asleep. We do it so secretly:)
If you think it's fine for you to have a haircut for your son, why not keep on it?:)

hey there!
Now THAT'S something i've never tried before. My 3 year old just couldn't keep still.. well he could for 5 minutes only.. then i'll wait another half an hour before he'll settle down again so i can another 5 minutes worth of hair. Haha.. maybe i'll try that sometime. But my mother is against cutting hair at night.. and my son doesn't believe in afternoon naps either.. ever since he was a baby.. *sigh*
Well, anyhow, i'll give it a try some time soon. he looks like he's in need of another hair trim. Thanks alot!

I've got a little girl, so I don't send her to the barber. And, her hair is so pretty, that I am dreading the day when she asks me to cut it. Growing up my mother wouldn't let me cut my hair, and I imagined that she did it to be mean. But, now looking at my daughter's hair, and not wanting her to cut it, I understood how my Mom must have felt. Every strand of hair on her head is precious to me. Be well. Best of luck with your babies!

Oh how i wished that my mother was like your mother. My mother wanted to have my hair cut all the time.. yet she didn't want to send me to a barber. Instead she asked my grandmother to cut my hair.. and it ended up looking like a helmet. Seriously! I was so self-conscious of my hair (i was 4 yrs old) that i didn't want to go out.. but, i didn't want to disappoint my nana so I pretended to like it anyways.
My son's hair is naturally curly so it turns out well any way i cut it.. Thank goodness~~

Hey joey~~
:) it's okay.. Well, i'm really grateful that my son's hair is pretty curly. So when i do make a mistake, you can't really see it.. it will curl this way and that.. and ends up looking nice, anyway. Yeah, i think i'll stick to cutting his hair myself. :) Thanks for sharing~

If you can cut your boys hair, then continue, it's fine. I had been bring my sons to the barber since they are 1 year old as I have problem in handling the haircutting tool.
Since I am in US, I just started to cut my sons hair for the past 7 month. you may view the following video from you-tube. Pretty clear instruction.
