What is with the British Lottery? Why do Africans like me so much?

We would all like to win millions of dollars from a lottery. The thing about lottery is you usually have to buy a chance at winning right? Alternatively, someone might like us enough to give us unspeakable amounts of money... The reason I am bringing this up is because I have purchased nothing toward the winning of a jackpot, yet everyday, regardless of spam filters and blocked senders, I keep getting LITERALLY DOZENS of notifications that I have won millions of pounds in the British lottery. They want me to send them all kinds of personal information to verify my win. The other scam spam I'm getting repeatedly in spite of my blocks and filters is the offer to take care of some foreign money because my background has been studied by private investigators and they have found I am trustworthy and dependable and honest. Isn't that lovely? These are OBVIOUSLY scams. Why do they keep getting through my spam filter? What are others of you doing about this garbage? Why are there so MANY people sending the same horsesh**? Someone help me, my pitchfork is long ago buried in the pile and I am drowning.
