Hi, I am from India, from teh southern part of Indai.
Here the prominent religion is Hinduism. In hinduism, there is goddess worship to a great extent, that too in the villages. They consider earth as a goddess, another goddess who gives all the energy etc.
But later male gods took prominence.
I think in every religion, there was goddess worship once upon a time.

Hi, Shan_Ab,
I'm glad you introduced yourself and India. India's rich goddess history is fascinating and appealing. This is a quote from the book, "The Living Goddess" by Linda Johnsen:
"One of the things I love most about India is that I can worship the Goddess freely here, and no one thinks I'm a New Age flake or a feminist with an axe to grind. Sitting down on the grass here and chanting to the World Mother is as natural and appropriate as breathing. ( In India 600,000,000 Hindus pour out in to the streets shouting the Mother's names. Now this is what I call a Goddess festival! (Sarasvati)"

I can't say that I worship a Goddess or that I study it, but I do believe in leading a spiritual life. how about you?
