Have you ever imagined how your parents would feel if one day you found out you were gay? How would you explain to them and how would your life be affected?

Funny thing is that I am gay and it was terrible. You see my mother is 100% homophobic and she cannot stand gay people. Hell she hates Ellen Degeneres just because she is a lesbian. Not because she thinks her jokes or anything sucks but just because she is lesbian. My life has been affected traumatically. I can't even talk on the phone with another guy without her bugging me about is he gay and stuff like that. I think parents should love you no matter what because if they truly love you unconditionally then it should not matter whether or not if you are gay. It just seems that parents say they love you unconditionally but once they find out your gay or something like that most parents turn around and say some very hateful things to you. It has happened to me and a few other people I know. Its just very sad thats how life works.

My sister told her friends and family a few weeks ago that she was gay, and really, no-one had any problems with it. There hasn't changed anything for her, as far as I can see, except that she has a girlfriend now instead of a boyfriend, and honestly, that's not that much of a difference, right? And maybe she's happier now, because she doesn't have to pretend to be straight anymore.
