Bonsai forests???

Ihave already made a forest out of japanese maples in an oval pot, but now i have a new challenge for myself, i have a nice big piece of dead work from an old tree with which i want to make another forest. My problem is choosing trees, i already have maples, an elm, junipers, a blue ceder, 2 ficus', and a few others but i want something different, any ideas???

If the forest will be inside you could try these; Dwarf Jades, Fukien Teas, and Hawaiian Umbrella trees. If it will be outside perhaps these would be better; Chinese Elms, Trident Maples and Redwoods. Hope I helped :)
