If you didn't know about it before, there are a few American pennies that are worth several thousand dollars to coin collectors. The most valuable penny is the 1922 blank wheat penny. It's worth $1,250 American. Blank means that it was minted in Washington. The "D" version of the 1922 penny is also worth a few dollars, so watch out!

Blank actually still means it was minted in Philidelphia. No coins are ever minted in Washington, only paper currency is. And the value all depends on the quality of the coin. A blank 1922 can be worth as much as $30,000.

Believe me I do. I collect old money and foreign money. I find that it is so fun. I will keep on eye out for the 1922 blank wheat penny. Thank you.
