i have spent hours since getting my 500 posts here making a guide to copy and paste. i hape that you all find it useful as it is very long, but includes almost everything to do with agility :)
Guide to agility.
Agility is a members only skill that can be very useful, it enables you to run for longer and means that your run energy will go back up faster after you have used it up. It is not a financially rewarding skill, but it is a good skill non the less.
There are many ways to train agility, but to begin with there is only one course you can use and this is the Gnome Stronghold course. This course is located northwest of Ardougne in the Gnome Stronghold, you can either walk there or if you have completed the Tree Gnome Village Quest you can use the Spirit Trees to teleport to the Gnome Stronghold faster.
The Gnome Stronghold
This course runs in a square so it is best to start at the beginning (the log by the entrance) and go counter-clockwise, the obstacles on this course can't be failed and when you complete this course, you receive a completion bonus of 45, for a total of 86.5 agility exp. This is a very easy course to do, but can get a little boring after a while.
The Agility Pyramid
At level 30 agility, you will now be able to use the Agility Pyramid, this is located north east of Sophanem in the desert, be sure that you bring water skins or choc ices. Other things that you will need are: desert robes, a shantay pass, food, and a bowl of water to refill the waterskins at the Nardah fountain if you have completed the Spirit of the Elid Quest.
Once you are all prepared, and you have gotten to the Agility Pyramid, talk to Simon Templeton.
The idea is to reach the top of the pyramid and to get an artifact, which Simon will pay 1k gp for. To get to the top, simply pass all of the obstacles on each floor. Although you can attempt to pass any obstacle backwards, you will ALWAYS fail and take minimal damage. This can be an effective way to leave the pyramid if you run out of water or food.
For completing the whole pyramid and taking the artifact to Simon Templeton, you will get 1014 agility exp and 1k gp, it takes just under 3 minutes to complete the Pyramid.
Barbarian Outpost
When you reach level 35 Agility, and if you complete the Alfred Grimshaw bar crawl (you can start the bar crawl by talking to the barbarians outside the gate) you can move on to the course that is alongside of the Barbarian Outpost. For an easy teleport, buy or make a games necklace (sapphire necklace enchanted) and rub it and choose “Barbarian Outpost”.
Most people do this course clockwise as this is the easiest way around the obstacles.
There is a pipe to squeeze through (which needs 35 agility to use) and some new obstacles that aren't at the Gnome Stronghold.
On this course you have a chance to fail and take damage on certain obstacles so it is wise to take some food to heal while you are training there.
For completing the full course you receive a completion bonus of 46.2, for a total of 153.2 agility exp.
Penguin Agility Course
To be able to use this course, you will need to have completed the Cold War Quest, have level 30 agility and a penguin suit.
How to get there:
First you must make your way to the dock northeast of Rellekka, this can be done many ways. Three of the best ways to get there are, the Fairy Rings (Fairy Tale Part II required. The ring code is "DKS"), have your house option set to Rellekka to use “teleport to my house” and the Enchanted lyre (Fremennik Trails required). Or you can teleport to Camelot and then walk on the road to Rellekka from there.
From Rellekka Docks, (by the rock crabs and east of Rellekka city) get on the boat. From the landing point of the Iceberg go northwest to the Avalanche. Enter the Avalanche (Penguin Suit required).
Go through the room to the west and follow the corridor through another door. You're now inside the Penguin Agility arena. Walk north past the Army of Penguins until you reach the checkered line. This is the starting point!
The course it’s self is pretty simple, you just need to follow it round, the obstacles are:
Crushers: Try to swim past these without getting hit. The trick is to click on the area after the last stone. You will then move on your own, waiting for the stones to move so you can move. This usually prevents you from being hit. If you do get hit you will take 4 damage.
Stepping Stones: Jump up to these after swimming past crushers. Can be failed. Hits for 3 damage when failed.
Icicle gates: Tread past these carefully. Can be failed. Hits for 2 damage if failed.
Ice slope: Climb up these by clicking on the stones that are slippery. Can be failed. Hits for 2 damage if failed.
Slope: Slide down this. Can't be failed.
Then onto the finish.
You will get a completion bonus of 540exp to agility when you finish.
Brimhaven Agility Arena
This agility arena is my favourite, and is a mini game as well as a very good way to train agility. You will need food here, there is no doubt about it! Many of the obstacles give out damage on a regular basis, though this is not actually something to worry about too much, as I will explain later. It is best to have 45+ agility before going to this arena, there are 2 obstacles that require 40 agility and one of those are “poisoned” darts, the poison will not hit your with normal poison, but with something that will reduce your agility temporarily by 2 each time you are hit.
To get to the Brimhaven agility arena head to Brimhaven and just north of the gate into the members area of Karamja Island, you will see a little bamboo hut. Talk to "Cap'n Izzy No Beard". You will nee to pay 200 gp to enter the arena. As soon as you enter, you will get the music "Aztec". You do not need to bring teleport runes into the agility arena since the update that gave us the “home teleport”, you will also not need any armour or weapons, these will only weigh you down and make your run energy go down faster.
Once inside, make sure you have your run switched on, as speed is needed in here.
The idea of this arena is to follow the blinking arrow on the mini map to each ticket dispenser. You will have 30 - 60 seconds before the arrow changes to reach them.
Once you find the right area, the arrow will be blinking yellow. Click on the ticket dispenser, the first time you do this, you will not receive a ticket, but for each successive time you manage to hit a dispenser afterwards while the arrow is yellow, you will get a ticket. If you fail to get one because it moved, just start over (whenever the little red/green light in corner is red you need to start over). Note: The first time you click a dispenser will not give you a ticket so try not to let the time run out on you before you get to hit the dispenser!
The exp that you receive varies as you never know which obstacles you will need to go over, but each obstacle will give some exp with the exception of a blade that comes out of the floor, this gives 0 exp.
These are what each obstacle gives:
Plank walk 6, Log balance 12, Pressure pad 26, Rope swing 20, Pillar 18. Low wall 8, Floor spikes 24, Darts 30, Monkey bars 14, Balancing rope 16, Balancing ledge 16, Spinning blade 28, Hand holds 22,
You can get more exp per obstacle if you have gained the Karamja gloves 2 by doing the Karamja achievement diary.
As for the tickets that you gain while you are doing the mini game, these can be taken back up to the hut where Cap'n Izzy No Beard is and talk to Pirate Jackie the Fruit, she will exchange the tickets for more agility exp, or a small selection of items.
When using your tickets for exp, this is what you can get:
One Ticket (1): 240 exp to agility
Ten Tickets (10): 2,480 exp to agility
Twenty Five Tickets (25): 6,500 exp to agility
One Hundred Tickets (100): 28,000 exp to agility
One Thousand Tickets (1000): 320,000 exp to agility
Or if you have the Karamja gloves 2 this is what you will get for your tickets:
One Ticket (1): 264 exp to agility
Ten Tickets (10): 2,720 exp to agility
Twenty Five Tickets (25): 7,200 exp to agility
One Hundred Tickets (100): 30,800 exp to agility
One Thousand Tickets (1000): 352,000 exp to agility
Now to explain what sort of food you need for the Brimhaven arena.
As I said before, you will take damage in the arena, but that is not a bad thing. When you first enter, if you have full heath, you will take damage that can be up to 6 at a time, but after you have taken damage, and your health gets down to say 20-30, you will only be taking 3 damage, when your health falls below 20 you will only take 2 damage each time you are hit.
Because of this, the best food that you can take into the arena is cake… yep that’s right, cakes! Each full cake contains 3 slices, each slice heals 4 hp.
So when you have been around the arena a few times and you are in need of food, just eat one slice of cake, the best way to be able to stay in the arena for a long period of time is to keep your health between 3 and 19.
Ape Atoll
The Ape Atoll agility course requires 48 agility, but also has the requirement of a “ninja monkey greegree”. It's the greegree you make from archer monkey bones. This course requires most of the Monkey Madness quest to be completed, but it is much easier to access with the Ape Atoll teleport after finishing the monkey part of Recipe for Disaster.
To start the course, cross a small bridge in the southern part of the monkey city on Ape Atoll, and follow the river. The course is very short and rewarding, but all obstacles here can be failed. You will take from 3-7 damage from any failure, depending on your HP, so it is advised that you keep your hp low at this course in the same way that you should on the Brimhaven arena and bring food, again cakes are best.
You can only go around this course one way (anti-c
