Do you need to sleep under a blanket even if the weather is hot?

Maybe not always a blanket. But definatly a sheet if the blanket is sweltering.
I live in Texas so the heat can definatly get to you sometimes. But yeah - I need SOMETHING on me. I think it's the weight or something because I have been able to fall asleep with someone holding/on me instead :)

I can definitely see needing to reduce to a sheet living in Texas. I live in Pennsylvania and I can't even handle the heat here. I'd probably die if I vacationed down there. Good point about the weight thing. I think sometimes I've been able to fall asleep if the blanket wasn't actually covering me completely and I was just hugging the blanket like you might hug a pillow.

Yes,I like to have a little weight upon my body, in winter it is definitely heavy and in summer it is feather weight quilt.Otherwise I think I can not sleep at all.

Yes, I'm the same way! I seem to always have to have something over me when I sleep, no matter how warm it is. I prefer to have the comforter over me, but if it's really too hot, then I'll just sleep with a sheet and leave the ceiling fan on all night. I'm not sure why, but I just feel strange without anything covering me.

I am exactly the same way. I will eventually kick the blanket off of me if it is too hot but I have to still have at least a sheet covering me. I can not sleep without something covering me up..... and I mean completely covering me up, I have to have the sheet all the way up under my chin.

Strange that you bring up this discussion. I always need some blanked that weighs a bit to be able to sleep, strangely enough when watching tv I can fall asleep without blanket LOL.

When it is really warm out, I still prefer a light blanket, and a Fan blowing on me. If it is really hot then sometimes just a sheet, but I prefer keeping a little Cool if I can when I sleep so I need a light blanket most of the time. Living here in Seattle area actually makes this easier to do most of the time anyway.

I guess I am fortunate. I have an air conditioner unit in my room. So my room is never hot (unless the aircon breaks down).
Which it had happened before. But I still use the blanket anyway.:P

I always sleep with a blanket too. Comforters that I have seem to adapt to whether it is hot or cold. I love to have that cover!!!

For me it does not have to be a blanket when the weather is hot, just some cloth to cover my body. I feel exposed if I sleep without some form of covering over me. it feel very weird. But if there is no other light cloth that I can use to cover myself when it is hot, then I would just have to use the blanket to that.

How funny! I am like that too. Good to know there are others out there besides me!! It can be 90 degrees out and I have to have a blanket on. Usually my feet are sticking out the end to keep me cool. My husband thinks I'm weird, but good to know there are others. I have found that when it's really just too hot and uncomfortable to have a blanket all the way on me, if I wrap it over my middle section, I seem to have enough comfort to fall asleep.

i agree n i have many times noticed the same thing...
even in summer i just lie under a comforter wid the ac on at the highest... but in the winter it is a luxury to be under u'r covers...n it is a really hard time for me to get up in the morning as it is so chilly...

Yes, I can't sleep without one. I've been like that since I was a baby.

I have no problem sleeping wiht or without a blanket you learn to adapt when yer partner keeps stealing them all during the night now if it is hot will sleep commado on top of the covers witha fan on no problem.

Hey Kythe, great topic. I too like having a blanket even when the temperature is warm. I guess its a comfort measure. We have a ceiling fan so I keep that on. In the winter time, I like to keep it cool. The heat tends to give me a headache (need radiant heating) and I'd rather cuddle under a thick quilt anyway.
Have a fortuitous day!

I always like sleeping with a blanket. I can't sleep without one. I always wanted myself not to be seen by anyone. Sleeping with a blanket makes me feel much safer. It also makes me feel that I am hidden and no one can see me. I don't know why I feel that way. I love my blanket and I don't want it to be taken away. :-)
