Do you swear to God??

Whenever you wanna convince someone that you're telling the truth, do you say "I swear to God!"?? Well, I do sometimes when someone really doesn't believe me. Somehow by saying that, they suddenly think that I MIGHT be telling the truth. Other times, I've known some people who just say it even though they're lying. They sure do want people to think they're telling the truth, so they say "I swear to God!" lol..
Well, what's your take on this? Do you use it to convince people you're telling the truth, or do you not have to say it?

I have not swear to God but I do make such a comment that I can swear to god to prove my innocence. Since god knows what is true and what is not, I find ti safe to "make use" of god to pull some strings. It often works well even before one need to swear. If the person is obviously lying in his action, I would not be concerned as he would get his desserts when time comes.

I'm very good about never using "god" in a sentence. Not for a particular religious or anti-religious reason but just because it bothers some people in the world. I love to write OMG!!!!! but I always say Oh my Gosh!. I've sworn...but I just say "I swear" not to anyone. even when I say bless you, it's just "bless you" no "god bless you". That's just how I am.

Yeah, I know some people like that too.. People do tend to get offended especially the elderly here in my country.. :P

I remember I did that when I was a small kid. As you said, whenever I was trying to tell something, I would swear to God to make sure that my friends would believe me LOL!
I don't do it anymore now. I don't swear to God just to make sure others will believe me. If they choose not to believe me, it is up to them :)

well, i do that, i even say even if i die tomorrow, coz im honest and i wanted that person to believe but there are times that it;s pretty hard for them to convince.. that's why i do that in a funy way that'll make us both laugh.. :)

Haha.. yeah, I think I've done that before in a playful manner. It just sucks sometimes when people don't believe us, right? Hehe.. Thanks for sharing seksiconnie..
