only 40% of a child's I.Q. is contributed by the father...where is the other 60%

it is a known fact that I.Q. (Intelligence Quotient) is passed on to our children. But did you know that I.Q. level of a person is contributed by the parents in this proportion: 60% from the mother and only 40% is contributed by the father.
Single men: think about this!

Well I knew that the IQ is passed on. But I did not about the precentages. Do you have a website that backs this? I would be interested in learning more abou this.

No specific website...Books in Genetics tell this so. The reason why a mother contributes larger is that: Intelligence is controlled not only by one gene but many genes and their interaction with each other also has contribution. Most genes are located in the nucleus of the cell, but there are some genes that play significantly in intelligence are located in the cytoplasm (specifically in the mitochondria). Have you seen a sperm under the microscope? It looks like a tadpole. Did you notice the head?the head of the sperm is actually the nucleus, cytoplasm is very little. in the case of the egg from the mother, it consist not only of the nucleus but also of the cytoplasm (just imagine a chicken egg: the yellow is the nucleus and the white portion is the cytoplasm). And so, if this is the case, more genes is contributed by the mother...
