I was approached by not one, but three of my friends, all representing different companies! At first, they insisted I attend the seminars, then they asked me to try the products...I ended up spending hundreds of ringgit. I was scared of receiving another offer, so I learnt to tell lies, lies and more lies. It was at this stage that I began to ask myself if building a long term friendship today should cost this much? Anyway, I'm lucky to stll have my other close friends - the kind of people you'd consider "true frineds" in "This will cost you $$$ Mate!" Beware of multi level marketing which shows you good marketing plan but will burn a hole in your pocket.

Oh dear, it wasn't called quikstar was it? Beware of that one too! It's the new amway, seriously. Amway got shut down so they remade it into a new mlm called Quikstar. Evil, evil people! They've ruined many of my friends lives...to the point of being homeless.

Amway was one of the pioneer mlm introduced here in my country and the response then was overwhelming. I am not aware that it got shut down. Mlm is forced marketing to the public and their sales tactics are hard to resist especially to the faint hearted people. Their goods are nothing special to the ones sold in the store shelves. Prices are marked up to make up for commissions to the members. Their membership fees are not cheap either. So being a member to any mlm is always on the losing end.

My sister and brother-in-law joined Amway, got me to and I only liked one of their products which was discontinued a month later.None of us made any money. They didn't learn the first time and joined again and still made no money.

I really hope they didn't go broke trying to make it work. It's awful what these companies do. I've never met anyone who has actually made it from one of those companies. Well, except for the big guys who run it and drive around in their expensive suits and cars.

Sometime ago I joined one popular diet replacement mlm company that promises 'magic'
to those who wants to slim down safe and fast. I spend so much money but not getting the result as promised. They even gave me FOC air ticket to fly to kl to attend their convention. Since it was FOC I did attend the convention. At first I was convinced by the talks but after forking out so much money I realised that the products are too expensive in the long run and not everybody can afford it. I did not renew my membership. Malaysia is the hub of many mlm companies. Something should be done to curtail these mlm growth here.

mim products price always been setted higher than market price atleast 5 times but the cost low.there are just few peoples may afford the products price compare to whole community, but there are still many peoples believe in mlm because their "hot button" been hit.the peoples on top level most profitable then their downlines have to hard working to promote the plan and products.if thinking it carefully, mlm just another money game exactly.

How unfortunate. It is sad that they promise all of these big dreams and deliver nothing. It is a hit or miss game with multi-level marketing.
I consider it a waste of time. I prefer to work to earn money. It is easier than getting others to join.

MLM is not a get rich quick scheme. MLM is about running your own business. Some people think when they join MLM they can be rich without doing anything. You have to work out your way and you must have a positive mental attitude to be successful. Ask yourself first, are ready to run your own business? If so then you must stop thinking like an employee.

I once met a woman who tried to rope me into one of these schemes. She had some kind of so-called 'natural cure' product, which she claimed even got rid of varicose veins. Looking at her legs told a whole different story, though! She kept pressuring me to buy a kit for only $99.00! I kept telling her over and over that I wasn't interested but she was even harrassing me while I was at work. I reported her to the supervisors where I worked since she was bothering me there and they told her that soliciting the employees was not allowed and told her to leave the premises. She was MAD at me then, but I couldn't care less, let her be mad. I wasn't about to spend my hard earned money on her junk.

Sales people are very persistent and they can't take NO for an answer. After many ugly experiences with these mlm I have this phobia when someone is trying to sell something to me. I will just keep reminding myself that this person is trying to 'take my money away'. With this I will not be easily tempted to part with my money with things that I don't need.

I am just like you. I put myself in the customer's shoes and when she says she don't have money I think of myself the same. When I have no money means I really don't have the money. So I just don't pursue the sales anymore. But mlm techniques are different they can get around the situation and close the sales no matter how the customer refuses. They believe that the word 'no' means 'yes' and they can play around with the situation until they close the deal.

You have really good point. Thats true about here on net. People are here to share, to expr4ess, to learn and to earn! And the last onbe TO EARN is more important so this kind of things are happening! But what i found is clarity. Say frankly that i dont know this kind of things and dont want to be involved. THis works but you may loose few friends thats true...

Yea, I've had friends like that - wonder sometimes if they are friends because they like me or friends because they want to sell to me :( Anytime someone tells me their getting into this program or that I run for the hills, don't answer the phone, or pretend I'm not home.

Yea they always start out with 'oh this is great, this person or that person made x amount of money, took a vacation to the Caribian Islands, bought a new house and/or car' What they don't tell you about is the thousands of people that didn't make anything.
I had one friend got into one of those things and lost several hundred dollars. One day she 'caught' me home and asked why I wasn't ever home - I just told her flat out I didn't want to hear about the great sales thing she was in - that was when she admitted she had lost the money.

MLM is actually just like any other type of business. But what will make it bad are the people promoting the system -- the people who will entice you to spend money because you will earn a great sum of money later on. Now, if the products are priced just right for its quality and you are firstly attracted to buy the products, then there is no scma in there. However, it is always wrong to buy the products just because of the marketing plan.
The only way to earn money in MLM is have people who will also use the products. In getting these people lies the rub -- because humans as we are we will use all the techniques there are to pursuade our friends and relatives to join the business.
Well, this is a business world. Actually, in the corporate world there are certainly much much more evil than these MLMers we have around who are forcing us to join their companies.

Zandi i think you're not against MLM business concept after all. You have joined many MLM companies before and that shows you want to be successful in this business. Maybe you just joined the wrong company with the wrong product. Maybe you're upset because you didn't make much money like what you have seen in the marketing plan.
To be successful in any business you have to follow the trend. The product should be of good quality with an affordable price. So people can afford to buy it again. Actually price is not a big issue when you have successfully build up your team. Only too expensive product will make you hard to sell it the first time.
I would prefer to sell an average price product and go for quantity.
Well I believe deep inside you, you still want the financial freedom that MLM offers. Don't give up now. You just have to carefully look at what product the MLM company offers. It has to be affordable and you can create the demand.
I have just the right book for your case. I can give it free to you if you want. Just send me a message if you're interested.

You're right, true friends would never try and force you to buy anything.
That is what happened to most of network marketers, they first try to sell to friends and relatives. They should never force people to buy things but instead show them the products and business opportunity. They will certainly buy if the products or business is something that they really want.
One tip for MLMers, your success doesn't come from people you know. Forget about them first, go get someone you don't know. They will come to you later and ask what business you're in.
You should use the right system in the first place. These tools will greatly help you in this business.

MLM is a scam! Always has been. I've had friends and family pull that MLM trick on me too. You'd think that a person would exempt their own family from such practices, but not in my case. For this reason I never try to recruit friends into any business. However if a friend ever wanted info on businesses that I'm into I wouldn't feel too uncomfortable sending them to my blog. That way I don't have to convince them to do anything, it's their choice.

HERBALIFE is the same, promises of dreams, promises that a modest income can be earned "Standing on your head" but once they sign you up, your pretty much left on your own. The company keeps boasting that its approaching $3 billion and that is true. What the company DOESNT say is what percenatge of that $3 Billion is based on new signups that then fail.
Only a few lucky people make it to the top and then make out that ANYBODY can do it. One Herbalife Millionare even told me that "money's not important" and then procede to explain his dilema of "do i buy a Porche or Ferrari"
Unless you are a sales experet AVOID HERBALIFE

This is the latest mlm that I got trapped in. A couple from uk came down to Malaysia to establish HERBALIFE. They are one of the so called President of Herbalife. I was elated that the President of something called me to join them. I did manage to sell few cans of their products but I end up buying thousand more riggit for my own. Though were supportive at an early stage but I find it too expensive. You just imagine 1 can of herbalife I will be able to buy 50 kgs of rice. My membership had just expired and I give up.

That's one of the biggest problems in MLM. High prices that people are asked to pay for products. I know of three companies (one of which I'm currently with), that sell the exact same product for wicked prices. 30 day supply is $104 WHOLESALE, second company sells for $80 WHOLESALE and ours is $39.95 RETAIL. THE SAME PRODUCT. I've since learnt that companies that sell their products so high, have huge overheads to meet. Because they want a ridiculously large home office to boast about on their website, they brag about 500 or 600 reps employed to answer the phone...How much do YOU think that costs...? Money in these MLM companies comes from ONE place...product movement. No wonder the products are so highly priced.
Ours is cheaper because we have no mammoth home office and we do 97% of our business online so there's no need for 600 people answering the phone...these people need to be paid salaries, benefits, social security, workman's compensation, overtime, time and a half for holidays etc....it's ridiculous.
The 2 top companies in network marketing are perfect example...The number one is 10 times larger than the number 2...simply because they pay out 10 times LESS MONEY to distributors in the field
Out of the 3 companies that I mentioned earlier, which do YOU think pays out the most to distributors in the field? I rest my case.

I always avoid anything or any program that requires me to give money to make money or the ones that tell you to get them referrals before you can earn. I think they are rip offs and the funny thing is they are all over the place. They usually have these very long and flashy web pages that promise you cars, money and stuff and at the end ask for credit card details.

I do nothing if I can help it without spending money. I cannot afford to chance any of my hard earned money. If the thing is so great then let them sponsor me and when I earn that fantastic money then I will in turn pay them back and a bonus. That is the good way a company would work. Sorry you had to find this out and hopefully you won't have anything like this touch you again.

You have outwit the founder of mlm in that way. That is smart of you and have never thought of getting back to them with your idea. This should play the trick if I could have thought of it. But all these company think is squeezing your money first to earn something from you before you make a profit. Their survival is on the membership fees, which is not cheap.

I don't blame you I would of got out also. As a matter of fact I have gotten invited to a few of these scams myself that want you to pay before you earn anything or want you to buy their products and also sell them.In the long run it is a big waste of time and money.

I don't like MLM (multilevel marketing). It always invloves approaching other poeple, & often the admin expects you to approach your friends. The world abounds with these offers. The only way you can make money out of them is to get more sign ups. And the hype the use is terrible. Some companies are experts at it, using methods that are almost brain washing.

I am sorry you had to go through this awful experience.
There are people that are making money of those system,
but it really depends on the company and the product, and how long they are on the market.
Oh and it woulf help if you'd be one of the first people that sale the product. Lol.

It is just so hard for people. They are trying to find something they can make a living. It is hard because who do they ask. I just wish there was no mulitmarketing out there it does hurt friendships. I know I have been weary of friends trying to get me involved.

This is why I don't do such things or attend such seminars. Most of those are scams to take money from you. Nowadays it's easier to scam someone. At least you've learned. Don't do anything people pressure you to do unless you feel right about it. It's ok to say no, even to close friends.

Seminars are a gateway to con the public. The way they organise the seminar is very impressive that makes you believe wow I will be the next successful businesswomen. No everybody has the means to buy those expensive stuff. True sometimes we have to be firm to our friends and refuse their offers.
