When did you switch your children to toddler beds?

never...when my kids outgrew their cribs they went right into big beds...we bought a guard rail for them both, but personally, i think that toddler beds are a waste of money!!!!

She may not be ready yet. I personally think it's best to wait until they climb out on their own, because with a toddler bed comes many other issues, such as now they are free out of the crib and in the middle of the night they could get up. If they aren't particualarily obediant, (and most aren't at 20 months) it could be a lot more of a struggle than you need. My son, did go to a toddler bed at around then, but he was quite compliant, and NEVER even tried to get out of bed w/out permission, he knew it wasn't allowed. Your daughter is most likely just testing her limits.. She's prob. just waiting to see what you do. I would just ignore her, as long as she's not hurting anyone or herself, let her fling herself around in there.. it will just make her more tired!

Hi my daughter was around 2 1/2. She did not want to give up her crib. She always wanted to think she was a big girl so I worked with that. I got her to pick out special big girl bedding and made it fun and exciting. The first few days only her animals slept in the bed. After that she hopped in and has not had a problem since. good luck and be patient it will happen.

my child doesnt sleep in her crib, its just wasting in the corner, she sleep with us, i want her to sleep on her own bed now, because our bed is becoming smaller for the three of us, but she doesnt want to, just like now, im interrupted here at mylot bcoz she woke up and cried, coz im not beside her.........

there was only 18 months between my last two childen so Rhia went into a normal bed at 18 months. She never fell out of it either. Your daughter might not like the feeling of being trapped in her bed, I know I wouldn't :)

I have three children and when they started doing that is when I bought them a toddler bed. I think that when they are olden enough to start climbing out of it then they are ready for a toddler bed.

I bypassed the toddler beds entirely, and just had regular beds for the kids. As soon as they're old enough to climb out of the crib, you might as well get them into something else. My kids were around 2 yrs old, I think.

my child does not sleep in her crib, shes 18 months old. she want to sleep with our bed, the crib is just wasting in the corner. i!m actually worried when she will be sleeping on her own, the bed is getting small for the three of us. like now, im interrupted in mylot discussions, coz she woke up and cried,,..... because im not beside her.....
