personal legend

I think I am still uncovering my personal legends, every day that I live. Everything that I see and learn becomes a part of them, and every time I find a new hope or idea my personal legend becomes something grander and more beautiful. I would say that I started learning as a young child when I first discovered my spiritual path, both through dreams of a particular deity and through the teachings of my great-grandmother. However, while I was learning many things then, my understanding of how the world worked was still very new and fresh. Over the years as more things happened to me, and I made more of my own choices, I found my ideas about the world growing and changing. Some of those ways were less than positive, and over the years I've spent a lot of effort turning my pain into compassion, willingness to help others, and a role as a protector whenever possible.
