I have great difficulty in saying sorry, even when I realize that it is my mistake, I resolve in my mind not to repeat it but to go ahead and admit that I am wrong and say sorry is very difficult for me. My friend always rings me an hour later to say sorry whenever we have had an argument, I appreciate his quality but can not develop it even after 20 years of friendship.

I know what you mean, sometimes saying sorry alone is not sufficient, we must also vow not to make the same mistakes again. In India there is saying that this type of sorry is like the elephant bath - after you bathe an elephant he takes sand/mud in his trunk and sprinkles it on his back.

One of my bosses said to me once "Hi, mister, you are loosing anything by telling me "GOOD MORNING". Therefore from that onwards, I made the habit of telling to known people "GOOD MORNING". If you know that you have to say sorry to the others, without any hestiation you should say that. It is basic culture and human courtesy. By hearing your telling them sorry, your image on this increases and not reduces.
