Do we need a library in the future?

When I was a child I went to the library often. I loved reading and I still do. No money for buying all the books I wanted to read and the library was for free.
Often I hear people say the library is no longer of use. I work in a library now and it is a busy job. Lots of people come and visit and take books. But also video, dvd, CD-rom and CD. But for how long will I still have a job in a place like that?

(Hopefully) we will have books, and people will be reading them, forever. Thus we will always have a need for libraries.

The library will be different. The hours of our library are decreasing so that it is hard to go when it is open because everyone is working. In fact, we may have mini=libraries in each neighborhood and one idea is to use the bookstores. There could be a section where people and organizations can donate books. Let us suppose you work at Coles, a bookshop in Canada. They could have a couple of bookshelves for rented books. You go to the cashier, and she gives you a ticket and when the time is up, you return it.
People take CDs and Dvds because they may have trouble reading the fine print and prefer listening.
