I was wondering if anyone out there participates in craft shows? Places where you can buy a table at the local high school? If there is anyone out there do you have any tips or suggestions? A lot of my items I am going to use the school's colors. My mom and my sister gave me a lot of input on what I should make. Last year I made a lot of my gifts, and everyone loved them. So does anyone out there have tips aor ideas? Thanks in advance!

I think the most important tip I can give you, it to make sure you bring a lot of change...depending on your prices, get lots of singles from the bank. That is always my biggest issue...people who want to buy a $4 item with a $20!
Other things I've learned:
--Bring bags to put the items in fater people buy them
--print yourself up some business cards. You can do this easily by getting business card paper at an office supply store.
--Bring a helper! Do't try to man your table on your own. This is helpful for bathroom breaks, and keeping an eye on your goods. It's sad to say, but sometimes items "walk".
--Pack lunch. Keep your energy up, carft fairs are a lot of hard work, and you want to stay perky and positive.
Good luck at your fair. I hope that you do really well!

You are so welcome. I hope your fair goes well! I do most of my fairs in the colder months, since I knit and knitting in not super popular in the warmer months!

If you are looking to participate in local craft fairs, the best place to look is in your local newspapers in the community bulletin section. They are usually posted there. I used to do craft fairs and I can tell you that they usually will provide you with a table for a few dollars extra. It may cost you a little bit of money to rent the space, but if you have something nice to sell, you can do quite well. The best time of year to find craft fairs is right before the holidays, after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas and usually around Easter time. Good luck!

My tip would be to make your display as interesting as possible with multiple levels. I use boxes that paper comes in and then place a piece of wood on top and cover everything with a table cloth. Also make sure to cover all your tables with a cloth.
Greet everyone who comes into your booth.
Have business cards available.
