New York City is just a beautiful place to see around the year. Depending on where you from and what you want to see.
If you are from some country(or states) where you have one weather thru year long than (let say summer all) I would say come to NYC during Winter (Xmas-Newyear) and experience the Rockafeller xmas tree, ice skating or the winter skating in Central park.
Spring enjoy the fresh breeze at a restaurant outing or take a long walk thru the island with no drip of sweat that you will experience during the summer time. Fall is another cool season were you can enjoy the evening outing.
Now the summer in New york is also beautiful especially if you are coming from a winter place...I love the summer in NYC cause you can wear less, that means less packing/luggage. During summer months NYC is overcrowded with tourist and you got to fight your way thru midtown site seeing.
Over all NYC is a beautiful place go see it for yourself when ever.

I went there june 25 and it was scorching hot! I don't recommend it for the elderly and the young kids....
I think it'll be better when it's a little cooler like spring or fall. That'll be perfect for walking or for taking the double decker bus. And I bet the colors will be lovely then too.

I too am looking into taking a holiday to NY and I can't wait. My daughter is 18 in jan and I promised myself when she became an adult I would go to the one place I have dreamt about going to see. The only thing is I want it to be perfect and I have no idea which area to stay, what to see and do, if anyone can give me any pointers I'd be more than happy.
