I have a little deli I go to almost every day for one thing or another. Every time I'm in there I see the same people come in and buy lottery tickets. I asked one woman who has been buying tickets every day for years if she ever won anything. She said she has won some money, but has probably spent more than she's ever won. I have played the lottery from time to time, especially when there is a big payout due, but generally I keep away from it. Do you play the lottery on a regular basis and if so, have you ever won any money?

I throw $5 periodically at the PowerBall, and have won a lil back here and there. Definately am not making money at this point but:
1) The money raised in PA goes to senior care, so if I lose at least the money goes somewhere decent.
2) Its only $5 so if I win cool, if not, I had $5 worth of entertainment thinking about what to do with the cash if I win.
Its a small guilty pleasure, but one I am not going to expand now that we are getting casinos here.

No i dont play lottery... That is not because i dont have faith on god or luck but i think this is not a good habit... once will win a lottery will spend more and more to win more and if will lose then will paly more and more to win... this is not a right way to earn money i believe...

I don't play often, but I have played a few times. I used to watch the same people come in every day to play the lottery when I worked at a local convenience store. It was always the same few people, and I never saw much money going out to them, but they sure kept paying the money in for all of those tickets. When I play though, I play only for fun. I never expect to win anything. I usually prefer to play the scratch off tickets. At least I win a few dollars on those once in a while.

no, but the lottery is for the mathmatically challenged..it is a tax we gladly pay..
a dream?
i worked in a bar when the lottery first came out with "instant scratch off" and i was shocked at the people who bought 20 or 30 dollars worth..even if they won something ..they bought more tickets..and most of these people could not afford this..some were on welfare..and food stamps. etc etc..
I buy them but I can't figure why people wait until the payout is very big..this is when your odds are the worst? is not a few million dollars enough for you? even one million with payments over 20 years would be enough for me..fifty grand a year?
well, we won't get rich with the lottery..the odds are just too great..i do think it is horrible how the poor people spend so much money gambling and going to the casino..while there family goes without..it is like a monkey on some people's back.
but NO i have not won more then a couple hundred dollars..but i did not put that back into the game..i gave most to my wife..and she spent it on food.
