i usually go to the back of the bus, so the ones at the front are more easily accessed to the elderly, however if i am near the front and someone with a crutch, stick, pregnant or elderly want to sit, i am more than happy to give up my seat.
Hopefully people will do the same for me when i am ill, hurt or old!

of course i have the heart to let the elders take my seat. it would be really rude to not let them take your seat. this also applies to the handicapped. i can not imagine myself being full of myself just sitting there, relaxed, while there is a very weak person in front of me.

I most definitely would give up my seat to an elderly person as they need to sit down. I think we all should give our seats up to them so they will be comfortable and can get off their feet. It is the courteous and appropriate thing to do. I would also give up my seat to a woman or child who wanted to sit down as well.

For that reason, mostly, I try to sit as far in the back of the bus as I can. That way the seats on the front are left open and someone who is disabled or elderly does not have to wait for me to get up.
However, I will get up for them if there are no seats up front.

I always give up my seat for anyone who appears to be older than me. Doesn't matter if they are elderly, crippled, pregnant, with other children, etc. I was always taught to respect your elders, & in my Grandma's house, if you were younger than anyone wanting to sit down, you got up. I think it's respectful & just good manners, the same way it is to hold open the door for whoever is coming in behind you.

Yes, I often offer my seat to the elderly and needy ones. Its a basic duty of a human.
