What does the mysterious 500 rating mean?

I love to write longer posts, but as I'm accustomed to by Word, I use to think forward and backwards, copying and pasting. Now, everytime I make the familiar CTRL-c CTRL-v move, myLot opens a window and tells me courteously that this will not work until I've reached a rating of 500! What does this mean? Is this the number of posts that appear with my username? Does it have to do with the rating other user's give me? But this number is a secret because the star only shows a percentage! Can everybody explain this to me? Thanks!

I am not familliar with a 500 RATING, but I am familliar with the fact that 500 posts means you've proven yourself on here as a writer (one who actually writes out responses) nd then you are finally llowed to cut and paste links, etc.

The popup that appears to notify me that I still cannot paste, uses the term RATING, that was what confused me a bit. Thanks!

In order to cut and paste things into the submission box you have to reach five hundred posts first, this is to try to stop spammers and scammers from abusing the site.

Thanks, I read some posts about pasting from other responses and I understand that myLot wants to make sure you're a real poster. I'll continue to the 500!

It means you need 500 posts (yes, the number by your name) before you can copy and paste. It's to filter out the spammers who only copy and paste text to earn money. 500 posts also lets you post pictures when replying to someone else's discussions. You don't have that long a way to go, just keep posting! =)
