Would you post to a discussion who has already marked a Best Response, especially if the best response has been selected in about 24-48 hours? I think that is rather quick. Seems that my opinion after 50 hours consideration may not be wanted. So I usually do not post. Would that cut some discussions short and limit the number of posts? I think it would.

I never really look because I only respond if the topic of the discussion is interesting to me. I come here to earn money, but when I get here I participate to have fun discussing things and the money becomes secondary. I seem to learn things each time I come.

I also only respond to topics of interest. When looking at responses to my discussion, I respond if I have something to add. If I mark a best response, I usually wait long enough to see if the discussion is pretty well over. Some peole might not find the discussion for a number of days after it was started.

I am of the opinion that, best among the responses should be selected only after getting many responses. But often people resolve upon the best response within minutes of starting the discussion. They have their own reasons for that. Recently I opened a discussion on this topic and many emphasised that there is nothing wrong with deciding the B/R within hours of opening a discussion. So that depends upon individuals.
Ok, to your question my answer is, I will respond to an interesting discussion even if the B/R is already decided. I like to see the B/R decided upon only after a few days. But it will not restrict me from offering my opinion on the topic, if the topic is from my interest group.
Very good topic. Thank you hometyme.

Good answer. I guess I am a little negiligent for not responding to posts that already have had a best response declared. It just feels like the best response may not have been made yet if it is done very quickly, before others may have responded.
It also seems that an early conclusion on best response could be conclusive to the discussion. Maybe I'll reconsider.

I have never paid any attention to any best response. If I have to add something, I add regardless of any other consideration.
I am also not aware how many are paying attention to best response. At least I never tried to know.
In fact I don't know how to find out what has been the best response. I will have to find out.
